    Ballast for 210 with NSS

So my dealer says Nautique is only recommending 400lbs bags in the back with the NSS. Anyone else hear this? I am still going 750s.

They also said the NSS would become less effective if sunken too deep.

Who cares what they say. Put in 750's and experiment yourself. You can always add more than 400 to a 750 but can't to the 400's. I use the full capacity of my 750's when wake boarding.

I agree, I told them I wanted the 750s anyway. Just wondering if anyone else was being told the same thing.

Bump. Just wondering if anybody else has heard this? I understand why you you would not put weight exclusively on the surf side (would bring the NSS out of the water on the other side) but I don't understand that why you wouldn't slam the boat (evenly). What am I missing here? Also, has anybody compared the NSS surf wave to a non-NSS surf wave with the same weight and boat? Is it cleaning up the wave or just making it so you can evenly weight the boat? Thanks. -Marc

Still working on dialing mine in.... Ive been able to achieve best results with roughly a 60/40 cheat to the surf side. Even at 70/30 the NSS isn't lifted out of the water.

Is there any risk of being too deep in the water? Does it work better to have the gates deploy closer to the surface to change the convergence of the water up there? Maybe that is why a slight cheat to the surf side helps when you have more weight in the boat...

I have no idea, just throwing thoughts out there to think about.

Interesting hypothesis. I'm going to try a "homebrew" version of the NSS soon. Hopefully it works as I would love to have the option to switch sides easily. -Marc
