Has anyone had any experience with a powder coated aluminum trailer? I only boat in fresh water, but I was thinking aluminum to have zero rust and have the least maintenance. I got a quote for powder coating from the factory. $20 per foot

$500 to powdercoat a trailer is a bargain! I've never seen a "sexy" aluminum trailer, but the basic channel style are reasonably priced. Who is the builder?
I've always liked the powdercoated metalcraft trailers I have sold over the years. They have held up well.

The I-beams are powder coated at the factory prior to the trailer being built. This is a link to what I am talking about.

It's going to be more than that, getting it done right now on my trailer going to pick it up in the next 2 hours. They have to sandblast as well before they can powder coat it so make sure that is in the overall price. I received low quote for $ 650 and come to find out the trailer wouldn't fit in the booth. So i have to take it to another place and it ended up costing me $ 1350. I bought a boat and the trailer was only a year old and was peppered by rocks so the trailer had tons of chips in it. ( this could be due to the powder not being cured right or no enough product being sprayed on.) They used the trailer to move furniture and lived on a 9 mile dirt road ? In a nut shell you are going to spend 1000 - 1600 to re-powder coat your trailer. You want to find a place that is going to lync coat the trailer and put a couple of layers of powder they did about 6 mm of powder on mine looks better and lasts longer.
