    ACME 2315 on a G23 450

What a terrific prop. If you have the OEM 2313 on the G23 with the 450, and looking for a little more torque, this is the prop for you. Guys at ACME said it would be such a slight difference between the 2315 and the 2313, it wouldn't barely be worth the purchase.... Well I 100% disagree. There is a noticeable difference. It moved the heavy weight much easier than OEM 2313.

76% fuel, 2 200lb men. Same gear and pretty much everything else as on the 2249 review I did on here last month.

wide open throttle no ballast 37mph at 5600 rpm. Bimini was stowed and 4 boards in the racks.

0-23mph with full stock ballast average over 5 runs: 13-14 seconds! (vs 19 seconds avg on 2249, and 15secs avg on the 2313).

ok, besides the quicker launch of OEM ballast up to 23mph.... Most noticeable for me was while surfing. With the weight I surf with.

i surf stock ballast + a full 1100 in the starboard trunk 11.6-12mph with NSS : NCRS at 5 Surf Vert 0. The OEM 2313 can do it, but its extreme. The rpms with 2313 are 3350-3500 but its struggling. And it can barely hit 12mph.

Same setup with the 2315 runs 3450-3550 rpms but it seems easy... As in effortless up to 12mph. I could definitely add more weight with 2315. That drop in cup makes quite a difference.

Hope this helps a few fellow PN brethren.

The 2315 is where it's at for the 450, if you're going to run extra ballast. We ran 2000 pounds on top of factory. The most noticable advantage it has, that I've found, is in the tight turn arounds....just seems to keep speed better. With the weight we ran, my numbers for the RPMS were about 4400-4600 @ 24 mph and 3900 @ 22 mph.

We really need someone to test out the ACME 2419.

Bottom line is: with a .050 drop in cup(from 2313--> .150cup to 2315 --> .105cup).... I would estimate approx a 15-20% increase in percieved/useable torque under the heavy loads, with only a 1-2mph drop in WOT speeds. There is another .030 cup drop out there available in the 2419.

If ratios hold and they are linear in nature, I certainly would give up another 1mph at WOT for even half the gains I felt yesterday on the 2315.

I am doing my prop buys and exchanges thru Wakeprops.... not the easiest, as far as transactions, currently would give them a "C" rating.

I put an OJ wake pro 945 15x13 and I noticed it carries the weight far better and much quicker out of the hole I will record actual numbers next week end. So far very happy and noticeable improvement over the 2313

          Ryan,

Great info here but the title says G23 450. Are you testing with a different boat than the one you own?

Since this is an ancient thread, I will hijack just a smidgeon. Call me cheap for not wanting to spend $900 on a propeller. I am in the market for a spare prop, and it would be nice if even one of the smaller older props would get me through a weekend if I ding a prop at my rock infested waters. Is there any real option out there? The OJ 945 interests me as I bet it would not cost as much as the spinning anchor I currently have.

I am confused as to how a prop that is both smaller in diameter and lower in pitch could ever get me going more than 20 MPH. Please explain. The current stock prop is 17 X 17. Chris, what made you even try it? It would seem the prop would be spinning so fast the RPM's would be similar to when the boat was out of the water.

Tall, the 2013 G's ran 1.48 gearboxes, hence the 15" props. The latest G's run 2.1 gears with 17" props (except the 550's that still have 1.48).

Arrgh...slaps forehead....I knew that. So what you are saying is that there really is not a cheaper prop that will save a weekend.

We're in similar situation. Without getting into how, I just dropped off our g23 prop at repair shop. Now wife wants to get spare prop for just in case situations this summer. They increased the shaft size to 1.25" as well in 14 for the smaller g motors. I had the same thought of finding a cheaper smaller prop as a spare for the just in case long weekend need, but then it'd suck having a poor performing prop. Unfortunately I think we're gonna end up with a $900 dollar spare prop.
