yes the pic of the RIB was the same config as the fatal accident. Driver standing at the helm> I for one always remain seated (and my passengers) when underway>
today I purchased a neat discreet red wrist band (same as for PWC) and wore it for the first time today, couldn't even feel I was wearing it and did not obstruct or hinder anything

ok, call me stupid. i really don't understand the video. It is obvious by looking at people and boat bouncing before and around 1:30 that the driver was going way too fast for conditions. wouldn't the same exact thing have happened if he was wearing the lanyard? yes it could have been worse had he been thrown out if not wearing it. But he looked like a complete idiot for going that fast didn't he?

Agreed. Man, that guy hit the deck HARD! I only watched it once, but it looked to me that once the boat dug in and spun out that they were nearly stopped(?) then the other passenger came and shut down the engines.

True. If my lawnmower has a pressure switch in the seat then wouldn't you think my Nautque should?

You have an AIR nautique... So your point is invalid. Nice try though

Scott: (At 2:18) Yeah, you mean where he backs way off the throttle? At that point they are all looking to the stbd side forward of the bow (they see something) and he makes that move, then bam, and in the top left of the screen you see a roller that they hit, right?

And it looks like he was turning the wheel to the right to try to anticipate hitting the wake, and they heel way over to stbd, then when they clear the wake, he's broadside to the direction of travel, and bam.

                  That's what i see anyways. . .

well, it looks like he cut the throttle all the way back as if he saw something about to happen, but then powered back up.and then off and on quickly?

I feel for his passengers the most. Irresponsible watercraft operation shouldn't have been tolerated by his passengers "hey homie, were impressed ... Chill out" (hence the reason I don't ride on the back of pwc's) that's also another reason I find those go fast boats pretty pointless. You can't do anything behind them, they tend to be owned by db's and as you see in that video they attack with severity. Not to mention they are more expensive than a full out G!

No, my point is that it is way before 2:18. in the mid 1's that his passengers are visibly concerned and guess what. not having a good time. Actually i kind of think he was a jerk from the very beginning. By 1:12 they were not happy.

I guess they are made to go fast to the beach... I'm like you, can't see much use for one. I'd personally rather have a pontoon. At least you can fish and grill off it.

I would guess that he was asking the pontoon boat if they had phoned for help, and they answered. my .02

If they were sitting I would agree. I would love to know the purpose of the video. Not like everybody mounts a camera and goes for a ride...and even if they did, I, as camera and boat owner, would NOT have posted that video (showing me being REAL stupid) on the internet unless there's an unknown reason behind the whole thing.
