    Non-Nautique Service and Warranty?

In short, some advice please: I purchased a new 2010 210 SANTE in mid-summer 2011 (it was commissioned for another customer and their financing fell through). Do I still need to use the Nautique dealer for service? I could go through the warranty paperwork, but I would like to benefit from all the experiences of people on the forum....thanks for your advice. BTW, I know many of you take care of your own servicing, unfortunately I am not as mechanically inclined as you are

The long story: I can't imagine ever again using my local Nautique dealer: Poplar Pointe Marine on Lake Gaston. Their service department is just hit or miss (mostly miss).
Last year they charged me $240 to fix a water pump/pulley that was still under PCM warranty. See this thread:
    http://www.planetnautique.com/vb3/sh...ealers-service

The latest...after the winterization, their technician spilled some fluid on the back seat. It left a stain that is about a quarter dollar size. I called them up and they sent someone to clean it up later that week. There is still a faint rim where the spill was and the vinyl does not have any texture anymore in that spot. I sent them an email saying the seat is damaged and they responded saying "we don't have any fluid that can cause this, it's probably a stain from one of your life vests or something else you left on the seat". Obviously the boat was completely empty for the winter, so that is complete BS. Every time I get on the boat and see that mark my blood boils.

Sorry to bore you with the details. I hope I can use other companies for service and that Nautique opens a trustworthy dealership in that area!

I might be able to help you with your stain.

I had an ink stain on my white vinyl that seemed impossible to remove. (I thought I had tried everything)

I googled it and someone had suggested acne cream.

Applied a generous amount and let it sit overnight.

The next day I wiped it up and the stain was gone!

    Might be worth a shot.

    Good luck!

Unfortunately, I believe that if you don't have the maintenance done by a dealer, PCM may not warranty things.... That was my experience.....

That is a crap dealer! They should be buying you a new skin! Email Nautique cust service about them. Also you don't need to have them do normal maint such as fluid changes or winterization only warranty work. You can also have your PCM worked on by any PCM dealer, doesn't need to be a Nautique dealer.

Thanks wetfoot, I'll try that. Still concerned that they rubbed off the vinyl texture, so even without the stain, you will be able to see the difference. Let's see what the other PlanetNautique friends say...I may end up just suing those guys - more than the cost, it's a matter of principle and treating your customers right (and not lying to their faces...). Thanks for your input!

Somebody is obviously trying to cover their *** and avoiding responsibility.

I have always had great success in these situations by going all the way to the top. Find out who owns the dealership and give him the oppty to do the right thing - tell him what you expect as a fix - new skin ... if he does not make it right go straight to the factory - Correct Craft is a faith based organization and prides themselves on doing the right thing.

If you approach this with calm reasoning and give both the dealer and the mfg the opportunity to make it right I am sure you will end up satisfied.

Just my 2 cents from my own personal experience.
            Thanks!

PCM warranties the motor, not Correct Craft...so any authorized PCM shop can do that work. Really they would be responsible, for the hull, tower, electronics etc. You could use any Nautique dealer for that, but you woudl be behind their customers in the queue.

Thanks Davidpsalt, I will try this approach one last time with them. Unfortunately it appears not all dealers try to live up to the high standards Nautique sets for itself...

Thanks for the info...I went to the PCM website and found 2 PCM dealers that provide service on the same lake, so this gives me options!

And keep in mind you're not that far from Whitelake if you needed CC warranty work done. But I do agree with the above posts: make sure you're fair to the dealer and when all else fails, let CC know one of their dealers isn't living up to par.

No problem - hope it works out for you. The only thing working against you is the time between when it was winterized and the claim you are making on the seat. had you noticed it right away it could have been addressed then. However they will try and make the case that anything could have caused that stain over the past several months since they last were in the boat.

Hope it works out for you - I am guessing the cost of a full rear bench skin will be in the $300 - $400 range.

Good luck and let us know how it works out.
                      Thanks!
