New to Nautique. Putour 93 Sport on the lift for the first time recently. The stern keel is on the keel board of our cantileverlift, the aft is off the keel board and cross arm by about three inches and isheld by the hull boards that run parallel with the boat. I would like to leave it like this. Any thoughts? Love my first Correct Craft. Very nicely kept, one owner. Need stickers for side and steering cable.

I had a pressing question (to me) that I knew was easy but had no one locally who could answer it. I posted it on the site and out of 83 views I got zip suggestions. Possibly I have a hard question, possibly I have a boat the non Junior Members don't feel is sufficient. Never mind though. I did find a friend to help out finally. I have other questions about Nautiques though but it looks like I will have to search elsewhere for those answers also. Sorry if anyone felt my question was too basic. Correct me if I am wrong about why not one person responded.

Pictures would have been incredibly helpful as not everyone is familiar with the style of boat lift you have and your description of what is going on was not the best.2001 Pro Air Nautique

I agree with the above I had no clue what you were asking and I have zero experience with cantilever lifts. As for the stickers and steering cable check out site sponsor nautiqueparts.com and don't forget the PND 10% site discount.Shawn

that is an atrocious description of what's going on. what is a keelboard and how does it differ from your hull board? from your description, it sounds like the stern is being supported by crossmember that is horizonal to the boat? how is that even possible with running gear? start over.

I really didn't understand what the OP was asking either. The question was asked on a Sunday when a lot of Nautiqe owners might have been out on their boats. This is not a huge board. Look at the number of views for other posts. Lots of people come to read for information and rarely post.

A better way to get a response would be to identify the lift by brand - hydro hoist, Shore Master, etc. and provide a better description of the problem you are trying to address. Pictures are always the best way to get views as well as responses.
Don't walk away with a bad impression of the folks participating here - very good folks all sharing the passion of boating in the best boats made!
Also - check out Correctcraftfan.com - another great site of loyal enthusiasts with lots of great advice!!!
Good luck with your new purchase and hope you worked out the issues with you lift! Great boat as 93 was the first year that Correct Craft moved from wood stringers and floor to all composite - no rot!!!Thanks!

Thank you now for all the responses. Wish I knew someone could use pictures, wish I knew from someone that I didn't use the right terms (my first sentence says I am new). A responding question would have helped immensely. As for the missing spaces - I created the question in Word, pasted it into Planet Nautique, and apparently Microsoft Office does not like the Nautique Software. I posted what should have been a purposely and correctly worded question and Nautique dropped my spaces. I enjoy my membership and will continue to use it by reading other's postings. Your passion for these boats is well founded. I am totally impressed.

You are right. I have never owned or tried to use a lift. Here it is typed directly and not pasted, and hopefully is clearer. Four days into concern that I was damaging anything the advice I found was that it does not matter. Hope it was good. Thanks for the reply. "wtf are you saying" would have even been a welcomed response.
New to Nautique. Put our 93 Sport on the Hewitt lift for the first time recently. It has keel boards on the frame cross arms for the boat to sit on. The front of the keel is on one, the back is off the keel board by about three inches. The back of the boat is held in the air by the carpeted bunk boards that run parallel with the boat. I would like to leave it like this and hoping that this will not damage the boat.

I have installed several Hewitt lifts in the past. The MAIN thing is to keep the Prop Shaft, the prop, the rudder, and the 3 fins from resting or hitting anything. As for how it is sitting on the lift, it would be great to see pics. If the keel is slightly hitting the keel board it shouldn't be a problem.......but if you have the inboard bunks, the hull should really be supported by the bunks only. that does sound much better, but still pictures work wonders.

Thanks - will get some pictures out. The prop shaft has room and is rear of the cross member. I did lightly bump the fins so moved the lift deeper into the lake. Thankfully someone warned me before my first attempt of putting it on the lift. We had frost last night so when it is warm enough to get in I will post!

I this what your lift look like?
I have a hydro hoist and my boat is supported only by the bunks that run from bow to stern - not so sure I understand why a lift would use cross members to support the boat as well - my lift mirrors my trailer setup and would think this would be the way to go - maybe consider removing the cross member unless is is critical to supporting your boat.
Was it put there for another config with a previous boat? Thanks!
