I would like some feed back on how you keep the carpet in your boat clean and how you clean it. Mine is "antelope" and it is a bear to keep clean. I've heard of some that keep their carpet completely covered with towels but that isn't practical for us. We have kids in the boat constantly and sometimes the water isn't the cleanest either. It doesn't help that we have a sand beach around our dock. (We have a carpet mat on the dock for that.) The carpet seems to get matted pretty easily also. I can't get it to be nice and soft like it was when new. Any suggestions appreciated.

RE: CARPET
No shoes allowed in the boat. Make people wash/rinse their feet EVERY time before they get on the boat, esp. if they are sandy. But even with every rule you can make, you will still have to vacume it thoroughly (sp?) every week or so. Thorough vacuming is the key to keeping the carpet clean. People with the 211 have a MAJOR advantage doing this. I can't imagine how nice it must be to un-snap it and take it to the car wash w/ the car and get it cleaned and shampooed. But my carpet is old-school so I have to go in w/ the vacume myself and get every pine needle, leaf, and grain of sand out of there myself... its definately a chore... but worth it when you're done....I Nautique, therefore I am.

RE: CARPET
Get another piece of antelope or similar color to cover what you want. ON the backside corners put velcro tabs (maybe on the floor piece also). Works just like a furniture cover!
ps - have wondered if one could screw snaps into the laminate, but sealing them from water intrusion would goop up the carpet i suppose. Snaps thru the existing carpet & into the laminate? Oops, "elderly moment"!\"The voices aren\'t real...but they have some good ideas.\"
