    ballast pumps in new 210

This has been asked before but never answered. How do the ballast pumps know when to shut off on a new boat with linc.

    1-are they on a timer
2-do they use the sending unit to tell the linc they are empty.

can the pumps run dry without problems?

if they use a timer and fill for 5 min, then empty for 5 min, they probably run the same amount of water each way- but if you are moving while draining-they will empty faster and pumps will run until time expires and they will be running dry.

Timer, new rubber compounds dry runs are not a problem for a lot of pumps anymore at certain speeds.

I pressed the wrong button the other day and ran a full cycle when it was already empty. I took a look at the impeller and it looked absolutely fine. It was one of the new green ones. So would agree running dry not appearing to be a problem. I would add that $26 / impeller is still too darn much though.

PS I switched from the yellows to the green last year due to boat pressure causing tanks to take on water. It did solve that problem.
