I had 08 230 and had 400lb bags piggybacked on top of hard tanks and worked pretty good. The only problem was one time when emptying the suction bent the transducer in one of the taks and the guage would not work. Tried taking out and straightning but still wouldn't work. Since have upgraded to new 230 and want to put 750 or possibly 1100 on top in back and was wondering how u guys get around the suction problem. Would like to leave hard tanks in but always can take out. Thanks

I personally pulled the hard tanks and put in the 1100 in back and like it. Can't remember which but either the port or starboard did not work anyway when filling...And I love the ability to pull dividers and get to entire side of engine when winterizing/tinkering/changing plugs.
But I am still considering piggyback with breather tube for belly tank to piggyback sac in ski locker. We are surfing though with just port 1100 full and stock belly full.

We have a 220 and pulled the hard tanks and add the 1100. Fills fast and dumps faster than a piggy back. Engine access is great but like Scott said add a reinforcement to the dividers. We bent the vertical support yesterday because we didn't have one. It's today's project. Wake was super sick but made a little work for myself. 1100s are the way to go.

I don't understand how the dividers are bowing out. When the ballast is filled the boat should be leaning the weight to the hull side not to the inside. My 230 doesn't have a problem with this. Just looked at it today to see. I would pull the hard tanks and eliminate all the suction problems. No, you won't be able to use the guards, but so much more simple to operate.2011 230 Super Air Nautique

Are you guys with the 1100's in the back running both full for wake boarding? If so, what are you putting in the bow and what engine are you running. On my 230 I had factory plus 750's in the locker with an extra 300lb of lead in the bow and it took over 22 seconds for the 343hp to plain the boat out, with aid from the gate.2013 G23 450 with NSS (175hrs) and still have the original prop

So far when i board i just in essence go stock, by doing one button press for belly, port, and starboard. No pro - middle aged guy - clearing the way by far with at 75 feet back and about 21 mph. I might try more one day soon, but we have been busy surfing lately.
It is about 1/3 for each button press on the 1100's.
