Can you trailer a SANTE 210 with an Acadia Denali?

I have limited experience with trailering.
Looks like the Acadia is rated for 5200 lbs trailering capacity. I assume this would be barely enough to trailer a 2010 210 SANTE?
No major hilly/mountain terrain, mostly highway.
    Thanks for your help.

That will be too close to call until you get a real world weight for the boat and trailer set up the way you use it (actual weight on a scale with the boat full of fuel and gear). Make sure the actual weight does not exceed the weights listed in the door jamb of your tow vehicle just in case you are ever in an accident. Guessing empty boat@3800, trailer@1100, fuel+gear?

I'll say nota chance. Based on brakes and Acadia wheelbase. I tow my 97 sn with a v8 Volvo xc90 on flat land.... The tail wags the dog over train track crossing because of the wheel base. 210 would put it in the ditch. Oh and mirrors will not see past. If Buying a big boat. buy a big truck and do it safe.

As others have said, you are right on the edge, which makes trailering a white knuckle experience. If you are using it to launch the boat at the beginning of the season and retrieve in the fall I'd say you could get away with it. Anything more than that will be stressful, especially if you have passengers in the Acadia.

We are looking for a replacement vehicle for my wife's tahoe and the acadia was a contender and I came to the conclusion that it would not be adequate for towing my SV211 to the lake when we need the 6 passenger seating the most. The Ford Explorer Sport with the Ecoboost motor is on the top of my list now.

I thought the Explorer could only pull 5K lbs? I love the tech features, but the gas mileage is a killer.

At this stage, we are looking at a Chevy Suburban or GM Yukon. Despite the less than ideal mpg, we can use regular gas, which helps for long-distance travel cost.
Does anyone have either of these vehicles and any advice?

We had a 06 GMC ext Envoy with a 5.3 and it did an ok job of towing our 210 but I never really felt comfortable. We sold it and picked up a used 06 Yukon XL and I have to say what a difference. My 2 cents would be get the larger vehicle, Ford or GM.

I have an '07 SAN 220 which probably isn't much heavier than your 210. On the public scale it weighed 6300 pounds. I pull it with a 2012 Yukon Denali AWD which I feel is barely adequate for the job. I never take it over 55 mph and can definitely feel the boat pushing me around when driving. As far as tow vehicles go, bigger is better.

I ve had two Nissan armadas. I pull my 210 all day long with it. Can't tell it is back there. Stops excellent also. I have to say to 2012 armada pulls better then my 2005. Due to tire size. I think they are rated at 9100 lbs. also I have pulled a 26' cobalt and San 230 with it. Same as the 210. Not sure i would pull a g23 though to much weight.

Thanks for all the great advice, I love this site and how everyone jumps in to share their expertise. Our focus shifted towards the larger SUVs thanks to your input. Also hope that we will have a G21 in our future, so planning for some additional towing capacity in the meantime... :-)
Wishing you a happy start of the week!

I too have an Armada.I use it to pull my 2009 230. I believe the weight is 4400 + trailer + everything that is put in it. Pulls great. The only issue I have with it is that the auto leveling system in the rear suspension is piece of crap!!

Wife has an 09 Suburban 2WD pulling our 08 210 SANTE which does very well. Good traction on ramp as well when pulling the boat out. What ever you get spend a little time on getting your trailer level with receiver hitch on the car as it makes a big difference on how the boat/ trailer pull and act behind the tow vehicle.
