I am looking at purchasing a 2000 SAN the boat has Perfect pass, tower, double axle trailer. 650 hours. Downside is the boat needs a new interior, and the keel has been damaged, I estimate it will take $500 to repair. $16000 Any thoughts? This will be my first Nautique, I currently drive a Regal IO.

Its up to you..I mean you can get a much better condition san around the same years for low 20's. To me the boat looks pretty badly abused from the outside and god knows what the engine looks like. Im thinking with those repairs and a new interior your running close to 3-5k which puts you right in line with an already nice condition SAN without any of the headaches.

your probably close on the gel with $500
in my world that interior would be $4000 with me ordering skins and doing it myself. and that costs alot of free time
what else needs money?
cover
trailer - brakes, tires
exhaust manifolds - do they run hot? at 13 years you're running on borrowed time
does it have perfect pass?
those are just a few obvious/easy things to check that can run that $16k up considerably.
with a boat appearing to have been that abused, i would be sketched out over regular maintenance. someone that cares that little may only feel the need to change oil every 5 years. i prefer the used boats that were driven by little old ladys on sundays.

I'd pay 10 for it.
