I had to put in some sweat equity to ride...

so here's a fun little story. My buddy and i each have 2005 210's. his lives on the water in a boat house while mine resides on a trailer at my house. we recently towed his boat to the marina with my boat to trailer it to have his new block and stuff installed. well, he used my boat once to go over to friends river house the other day, and promptly flushed it out for me as requested. well, I get down to his place yesterday to do some interior cleaning, fill sacs, and go shred. i drove the boat a little to get the ballast filling quickly. when i stopped to turn around i checked the engine temp and it was 190! i tried to idle but it kept rising so i floored it back to the house and things cooled down on the way. first thought is the strainer. it's fine. next thought is the impeller got fried. you wouldn't believe how much sweat started pouring out of me trying to get to that bottom bolt with a ratchet setup that was only barely short enough to get on the lower bolt. it was only about 97 with 60-70% humidity. anyways, impeller was fine and i couldn't figure out the problem. guess what the problem was...my buddy didn't screw the cap back on to the house input at the transom. regardless we both rode really well and had a blast, but it was a freaking fight to ride for sure.

p.s. i never would have thought the house input could cause an over heat, but i read on here a while back. thanks PN.

I think it's where the hose connects to the boat to flush the engine.

Yes - remote so you don't have to lift the engine cover....mounted on the hull somewhere convenient from the dock.

          unscrew the cap
          screw on the hose
          flush
          unscrew the hose
          REPLACE THE CAP

Note you might have to open the cover and close the inlet valve if you don't have a flush pro or equivalent.

I have ran my G23 with the cover off and valve open on accident and the temperatures stayed normal.
