    New Owners especially G23/25

So I'm taking delivery of my G23 with the 550hp this week finally!! Yes I'll post pics when I get her. My question is this is my first Nautique though not first new boat. Is the break-in the same as other boats? What are the dealerships telling you currently about break-in and is it as big a deal anymore as it used to be? TIA! Its like Christmas in June this week!

I didn't break mine in. I just ran it although I wasn't going full speed until I put some time on it.

Its hard to do the break it in like you stole it anymore with CPU data. If it ever comes down to a high dollar motor repair and the other side wanted to be an azz they could deny a claim for not following the break in procedures that would be stores in the computer

No excessive idle and no WOT for first 10-12hours. Trying to vary throttle(when not pulling) thereafter(should there be a lean spot in the powerband(2stroke term...).

Yes. Took me a couple of nights to get through it.

My info came from my dealer. Long time nautique dealer who is/was in on testing/development processes.

this web site is like face book, be careful what you put in print, your dealers might be reading ,and have your warranty voided. just my 2 cents.

I just picked up my G23 Friday. My dealer told me things he said he was "required" to tell me. He never mentioned break-in which is surprising considering several things he kept telling me he was required to say. I'm not new to breaking in motors considering my career, so I'm taking care of it like I feel I should. You should always do a break-in and read the owner's manual...at least the important stuff.

                          Congrats wakeslasher!

I was basically told 1 hours don't go over 1000 rpms, 2 hours= 2000 rpms, 3 hours= 3000 rpms and so on until I get to 7 hours. No full throttle between 7-10 hours and no ballast before 10 hours So I am not sure if I completely wasted my time or if that's actually how you break it in ?!?!?! (550hp motor)
