I didn't notice a rattle on mine the first few times out either. I think it has something to do with were the platform sits in the water. At least on mine when at full ballast and only a couple people in the boat the platform is half in the water so it's somewhat floating on the brackets therefore any vibrations (engine) allow it to rattle easily up and down in the bracket. If I have the boat super sacked out the platform is underwater and no rattle. No ballast, its basically out of the water and gravity is putting enough pressure to keep it from rattling. Hope that made sense. If you go to your platform when the boats on the trailer you should be able to rattle it up and down a little.
