    NSS Testing

I was wondering if there was a way to test the NSS out of the water to ensure the system is operating correctly? I just want the fins to extend and retract to make sure they both work.

I obviously am looking for something other than driving the boat on the trailer down the highway at surf speed and watching the fins ... which has been suggested to me ... haha

    Thanks

have you witnessed yours going out and in? mine makes noise like the NCRS does but according to my dealer it is just sucking itself in to make sure they are not deployed.

I have watched it and they make noise but do not extend.

yes my extends and then retracts, each time I power up. that's how I show people how its works while on the lift . my dealer says it does that test each time to make sure its not extended when you take off (not in surf mode)

I guess I will see when I get it in the water if the system works.

Does anyone else with the NSS see the fins come out and back in at startup?

Mine doesn't. It just makes a noise.

That makes me feel a bit better because that is what mine does. I wonder why different boats would work differently, they should all be the same?

Yeh you would assume. But the linc photo on the nautique website in the nss section is different then my actual Linc. The little wave icon is different from my boats.

any more on this please. On a 2016 g23, they do not extend, they just make a noice to make sure they are in. I would like to test both sides and ncrs plate. Is that possible

I'll have to try that out. I've actually never taken the time to see what is happening on the back side. I'll give it a curiousity test this evening...

You could always hook it up to a "fake lake", then turn the boat on, run the engine, deploy the NSS and see what happens.

If you can get the dealer code there is a demo mode it can be put in to test these things out. And as far as the fake a lake… That would be a no go because the boat has to be going at least 5mph to get the Plates to activate

Then there was this guy, that hooked up the fake-a-lake, put it in gear and spun it up to 5 MPH.
                          Please don't be that guy.

Curious if the boat electronics were on but engine not cranked, in surf mode, and being trailered at 10 mph what NSS and NCRS would do?

ive never seen the fins extend and retract at the time they are powered up. there is a way to do it with the dealer code. are you just wanteding to check operation before you go out each time?
