Surf wake - can some one give ideas how to improve it

I have 750 rear port locker belly tank full going 10.8/11.3 mile hour and bow sac the horse shoe looking one. In this pic I also had 3 225 people on port side and the. The driver was about 180. From research it seems I have enough weight it just does not seem very clean in comparison.

My only experience is some ridding last year on a Mastercraft. To the rest of us it's all new and a new boat to me this year.

Water is about 30 foot deep.

    Thanks
    Caleb

My '01 didn't like any weight up front. Try weighting it from the observer seat-aft on the port side only.

Yep, too much weight up front. Empty that under-seat ballast up front.

Gotta agree with that! That's some DIRTY water!

For some reason that doesn't seem like much of a lean for that much port weight

Check speed with a GPS. Previous owner may have monkeyed with the PP.

I agree with lam. Your buddy on the sun deck should be worried about rolling in. From my expirence your better off adding all your weight in which ever side your going to surf and as far back as possible. Then if the wave is not long enough or too close to the boat then add weight and or speed to suit your needs. Or take easy route and call wakemakers and be done with it. They have done all the research on your boat.

10.8/11.3 mile hour seams a little fast, with my 04 we run around 9.5 to 9.8 mph.

I run a 650 lb bag in the bow, offset to the side we are ridding on. With any less weight up front the pocket gets so small you can't really do anything. Otherwise your weighting seams about what I normally run. My rear tank full, a 440 full on top of it (700 lb total in locker), center tank full, 650 in the bow, and a 440 bag (or people in it's place) in the mid boat seat. The port side never has as much push as starboard, but it's a better looking wave than I'm seeing in these pictures.

This ^ You really have to have the rub rail almost in the water when you are leaning. Also as others have said you really need to get the butt of that thing down and the nose up to get a short tall wave with good push. The more you put in the nose the more it stretches the sweet spot out to go farther back but you lose height and wave push.

Also I'd run around 10.3-10.5 mph push it closer to 11mph only if you have a BUNCH of weight.

Lastly you are making me nervous with that ski rope while surfing! Spend a couple buck and get a surf rope! Save an arm!

We use the "Proline Super D 10' Braided Tail w/ 2 Sections Wakesurf Rope White 16'" No handle which should greatly reduce the chances of getting caught up in it with a fall.

That has to be the dirtiest water I have seen. dont wear white board shorts there....

                          "The Quinner Special":

                          Surf side tank full

                          Belly tank 2/3, NOT FULL

750-1100 in the surf side trunk completely maxed out as full as it will go

Fuel tank 1/3 to 2/3, NOT full

All passengers and everything heavy on the surf side, as far aft as possible.

                          10.8 -11.6 for starts.

NCRS at 5, then dial back as you see fit.

You need a real hard lean on your surf side, 2/3 of the weight towards rear corner.

If all that doesn't get it done, throw another 750 on top/under of your surf side seats. You'll have a raging wave garaunteed.

Yes, it's little short for us on our 230. At first, we used a dock line on the end to add a few feet. Then, last summer, a buddy back over the braided end and got it caught in the prop. So we bought another and combined the two. But you're right . . . it is a lithe short if you're tying off the tower.

                              What year is your boat?

Have you tried the other side? Starboard?

Here's my combo and its easy

                              1. Starboard rear full
                              2. Belly full
                              3. Two 250 sacs full and on starboard rear seat and floor
                              4. 9.3 speed

                              Works great for me
