Hello All
I have a question regarding mooring for my new A206.
I have just laid an 800 lbs concrete block underwater that is connected through a chain to a fairly large buoy at the surface. My local boating supplies dealer tells me that the best way to moor a boat is to tie it on both sides. This way, the boat will better align with the wind.
Here is my concern. The front pop up cleats that I would use on my boat are 9 feet each from the tip of the boat. If I use a relatively smooth 1/2" nylon braided rope to tie both sides of the boat to the buoy, will this scuff the "pretty" black gel coat ? Would it work as well if I simply run one rope from the buoy to the front ring of the boat ?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
JF
