The NSS for the PN boat finally came in and it is being installed right now at White Lake!

Yeah, I agree! I'd swing down your way after they finish up, but the 5200 they use in the install needs to cure for a day or two before it can go in the water. I will be back down your way soon though.

Hey Jeff, not to hijack here but since we're talking about G23's....do you know where you can get a G23 t-shirt?? My buddy has one from a demo/tradeshow in Charlotte but I can't find where to buy/get one anywhere!

I haven't seen any G23 specific shirts except for the ones they gave out at the reveal last year.

Arm is much better. I am hoping to get behind the boat for the first time since the arm incident tomorrow!

Have you had a chance to dial in the surf wake with the NSS plate? I have been following recommendations from nyryan by slightly filling more ballast on the side we surf on the most. I have not tried extra ballast at this point, as we are able to ride behind the boat for quite some time on just stock ballast. Thanks!

I am just back from a week-long camping trip on the water, and we have it dialed in pretty well now. I like the wave STEEP (NCRS at 5, NSS at 5). I agree with nyryan that adding just slightly more weight to the surf side does seem to help IF the boat is not heavily weighted to begin with. If you're running extra weight above stock (or have a bunch of people in the boat), it isn't necessary. I'll get some pictures of the surf wave posted in the next day or two. They're on my wife's camera.

We had a blast on the NSS surf wake almost every evening. We went out each night around dusk and surfed with about ten people in the boat, running the underwater lights to light up the surf wave. We used glow sticks on the handle, vests and board, and surfed the main channel of our lake (which was deserted). Not recommending night surfing in general, but we sure had fun with it!

I've ordered a 2014 G 23 with XR 550 and NSS that I will primarily use for surfing. I have a few questions that hopefully you can help me out with:

1) Are you adding more weight? How much in the rear compartments and bow?
2) Are you using stock prop (Acme 2247)? If so, speed and RPM for your set up.
3) Should I consider a different prop for surfing? What are the improvements compared to stock prop?

I have the XR550 G23, and we run a good deal of weight (how much depends on the experience of the rider is). The most I have used is full stock ballast, 1100 in bow, 1100 in surfside locker, and 500-600 in the opposite locker, with the NCRS between 3-5, and the NSS between 1-3. I am using the stock 2247 prop, (I have purchased the 2315 as a spare, but I think I am going to return after ironj and a few others have given it less than stellar reviews), and it is ok for using that much weight.
