    gel coat damage

Anybody familiar with gel coat damage? Does it need to be taken care of immediately or is there some kinda of sealant you can put over it particularly because of it being the holiday weekend. Also do you know about how long the repair takes I'm sure its depending on the shop as well but just and estimate?

Its purely cosmetic if the damage does not extend through the glass below. Go skiing and fix it after the season.

At least on my monitor, it looks likes the large spot is down to the glass. If it were me, I'd run down to the local marina and grab a gel coat repair kit to cover it up temporarilly - until I could get it into the glass repair shop. I tend to be a little over-cautious though.

It's easy... You may do such a good job that you won't bring it in for repair. I suppose it depends if you want a patch job or give the full repair a shot yourself?

Yeah, Like if we knew maybe we could avoid the same issue too. I may not sleep tonight worrying about it.

Being able to see the glass doesnt mean jack.

The glass has to be *damaged* for there to be any concern at all. Gel is purely cosmetic. If the glass isnt damaged, even if visible, just run it.

You can fix it properly now if you want, but running it as is will not cause a problem. Putting a temporary repair on it for no reason will just make the doing the proper fix later more of a PITA.

Im not sure if it happened hitting debris in the Ohio river while riding or while putting it on the trailer during the 20 mph current we were having (current speed is an exaggeration). All the rain we've gotten has the river trashed right now. Thank yall for the advice though i appreciate it.
