PLUS, I can't spin my G23 racks in without removing the top board (hits the WetSounds). So docking involves having to remove 2 of my 4 boards and hold / store them.
You are tracking you can invert the racks upside down and still have the Wetsounds tucked up in there tight right? there is 1/4" clearance here... slightly more with the weight of the boards in the racks.
Neverenough wasn't Bible thumping, get off his ***. He stated a reason that, to him, was an important factor in choosing a company. You don't have to agree with his reason but that's not a justification to jump on him like that.
Agreed! I also appreciate CC's Christian values, and it was a factor in our purchasing decision. Of course, the fact that they produce the best boat for our needs was the deciding factor.
Real wakeboard racks. Sorry but I don't enjoy spending 6 figures on a boat and holding my wakeboards on with a **** bungee cord. Not to mention they knock together unless placed just perfectly. MC clamp racks are far, far superior to Air Nautique's rubber band.

Totally agree. For all that is great about the G, the lack of engineering on a part of the boat that is used daily is sad. But Nautique is certainly not alone in the crappy wake board holder department.
Bungee cord to hold in the boards, swivel mechanism that is a bit picky to release, and boards drip into the boat/onto passengers due to angle and location all need to be addressed.
The MC wakeboard racks will never be approved by Nautique due to the unsave situation that board can fall off after a big bump. I had it on our old X-Star. I liked the NVert board racks of Nautique long time ago, but that was never a success. Still Nautique should design something better then the bungee..

Yep, fully aware, but thanks! Its still a fancy rubber band holding my stuff though.
1 other improvement Nautique needs to look at... that unless you wakesurf as a regular guy... and not a pro with a boatload of crew to handle the rope for you, you wouldnt even consider...
The sharp edges on the underside of the swim platform....need to be redisgned...I'd reccomend a 1' rounded tubular finish underneath... vs the sharp nearly unfinished fiberglass
if 2 guys are out wakesurfing... 1 guy driving & 1 guy surfing...when you swing around to pickup the fallen surfer you idle by super close so he can grab the short rope trailing dead center behind the swim platform...
As the surfer in the water usually you'll run your hand down the side of the boat so stay as close as possible so you dont miss the rope...and then as it comes by try to grab the rear tie down ring or the swim platform for a tug to get you over to the rope thats being drug by behind the boat
Grabbing that sharp edge under the swim platform, after your have been in the water for a while... not entirely pleasant... I counted last weekend.. roughly a 35 mins surf set, I had to tug on that sharp fiberglass nearly 20 times... 1" rounded finish to the underside edge of the swim platform vs a sharp 90deg 1/4" extension of fiberglass.
Also, kids swimming behind the boat... asking for stiches coming up from underwater with a head bump from that unfinished edge.

I didn't think about writing about it on here, but you're 100% right. I was thinking the same thing this weekend as I was holding onto the back of it being dragged at idle speed (we were floating too close to land so started the boat to idle away and we were still floating in the water). It was uncomfortably sharp on the bottom of it.
Also, the 2013 X-Star has 2 deep grip pockets, one on each side of center.
So yeah, #1 smooth out the bottom, Ryan's idea is dead on. #2 add grip pockets for grabbing onto the platform.
They definitely could come up with some better board racks, no question there. I would love to see them have the pressure ones like MC or Tige (think it's them?) I have never seen a board fall out of the MC ones but I have seen boards swivel out traditional racks when the bungees get stretched out and start to break down.
As for the handles on the platform you will never see those on a new Nautique out of respect for safety. If you don't know what "teak surfing" is then look it up and you will understand why CC does not want to make that any easier for somebody to do. Making the bottom more rounded and smooth sounds like a good idea though.
To get back on topic I have not ridden behind the new X or G yet but I sat in both at the boat show and was much more impressed with the G. I finally get to ride behind a G next week!

Had 3 MC's (Prostar 190, 230 and X2) just left a Malibu LSV 247 now with my G23. Nuff said. I have really been disappointed with where MC has gone in the last few years, I started out a MC fanboy and just finally had to leave them. Malibu was a very nice boat but the G23 is in a whole different class.
