211sv, ski boat that wake boards. Don't care for the surf wave, but use my friends Centurion 24+ for that! The 211 feels small with 7-8, but we are usually with 4-6, and the ski wake is great for serious recreation skiing, and the wake board wake is the same, good enough unless you are getting inverted!

I would definitely get her driving / trying anything you consider. Except for an improved ski wake not sure she's going to notice much of a difference. Backing an inboard is backing an inboard.

In your first post, you said this. "happy wife = happy life."
In my mind, you have an almost ideal situation, a wife that likes to ski. In my mind the way to go is to get a Ski Nautique, or a 196, or if you desire, even the 200. The truth is, you can wakeboard behind just about anything. I have seen flips behind my 1997 Ski Nautique, unballasted, with the back seat out and only three people in the boat. The person just knew how to cut. I know a guy who is a pretty good wakeboarder, and he learned flips behind a 1970 fiberform, with a 70 HP Johnson outboard.
The idea has been presented that all inboards back alike, except for the different in the way they pull, due to propeller rotation. Not true. A small inboard, like a Ski Nautique will handle better than even a Sport Nautique, going in reverse. A Ski Nautique is much more nimble going forward too.
Get your wife an inboard ski boat, and she may like it enough to spend enough time in it to figure out it's handling idiosyncrasies in reverse.
Get your wife what she likes. You may end up having to teach your kids to ski. Much easier to do with a small ski boat, than a wide beam wakeboard barge.

Sounds like a Sport 200 is the ideal boat for you. As said previous, you can wakeboard and surf... and your wife still has a great slalom wake. It is also a much smaller and lighter boat so it will react quicker to your steering responses. It is still a V-drive though so she will need to learn the docking characteristics of it. Good luck with your decision.2021 G23 450 - Current

You can learn to wakeboard behind just about anything. A lot of us didn't learn behind dedicated wakeboard boats, **** they really haven't existed for that long. I didn't even have a dedicated ski boat. I have a friend who learned most of his inverts and all the way up to his 720 mostly riding behind a 3 person jetski! Go look up the video of what Scott Byerly did way back behind an outboard with no tower, no life jacket, with archaic equipment and I am talking sandal binding skurfer here.
Sounds like you're not 100% sold on your current boat either. I would get out and test drive some of the options before you commit to selling what you have though. Once you find something you both like then you can decide if it makes sense to pull the trigger. Now that the G23 is the out there have been a lot of 230's on the market. This time of year most of us who follow the brand closely are waiting to see how the changes for the 2014's play out and if we get a G21 that becomes the new hot thing. Doesn't really matter though if you can comfortably make the move to a boat that is the best compromise for the whole family and makes your wife happy then do it.

Here's a shot of the boat. I don't know all the options - but it is a Team Edition - and has a bimini with nautique graphics on it, from what I know - it's fairly loaded.
I think she doesn't like it because she cant slalom behind it, and she can't control it like her last boat. I say "her" boat because she had to have it and she's always had a boat to ski behind, while I've always had go fast bass boats - and end up running both boats. If she says it goes after this week - then it's probably going.

I am happy with the size of our 210 it is easier to manage compared to a 230. Honestly I love the 230 for wakeboarding and surfing, but it is a big boat.http://www.ridebutter.com

Agree with the wakeboard behind anything! I learnt and still wakeboard behind a 170 outboard with a 150engine without a tower. Although I am looking at upgrading to a boat capable of surfing. Personally I don't think anyone is ever comfortable their first time behind the wheel of a big rig, especially if your with a lot of people. Takes time to gain confidence but you have to be willing to try and that might be the hardest part, getting your wife to want to take the time to learn... "I don't want you to do the dishes, I want you to Want to do the dishes" but somethings will never happen!

I wouldn't trade my wife for anything! But, she did say put it on craigs list and see what happens. I don't know the rules about posting links in this type of thread. So I guess I'll start a new one in the for sale section. Guys I'm guessing a bit on price - help me out in this thread if you could...
