Thanks so much....I have spoke to several dealers and they all said the boat is 5400lbs plus the add ons for speakers and what not. My dealer said a double axle phoneix trailer was 1450lbs..so Im coming up with 6900lbs plus tower speakers, fuel half a tank 200lbs (6.5lbs/gallon...half full) plus the coolant/oils. Im not saying your wrong Im just trying to understand.

One flaw in my calculation is that I had the weight of fuel at 8.3 lbs/gallon (assumed it was the same as water, but after a google search I see that it is just over 6 lbs/gallon....so you can subtract 30 pounds. I don't have a Phoenix trailer, I have a Boatmate. Boatmate comes with a ladder, and most times a spare tire (forgot to request the spare tire this year). My rims are 18" which will be a tad heavier. I also have 2 pair of tower speakers, bow cushion, fire extinguisher, battery maitenance, retractable air dam, reversable rear seat....all extras that I'm sure are not included in the base dry weight. I also don't think the 2 batteries are included in their numbers. As I clarified in the post, that was "my weight", everyones will be different depending on how your boat is equipped, what trailer you get, rim size, etc.

Do you have any idea what your trailer weighs? Is it on the registration? I bet your ptions probably add a couple hundred pounds to the boat....so lets say the boat weighs 6000 with 1/2 fuel and options then plus the trailer.

I don't know the exact weight of the trailer. I can try to remember to look at the registration when I get home tonight.

I can't believe how gynormous the G is. I saw it in person recently, what a joke. What does a MC X80 weigh? I remember when they came out everyone was saying how it was too big.

To the OP, if you want an SUV buy an excursion, 7.3 will need a few upgrades to make 400hp such as Injectors and turbo. The 6.0 will need a few upgrades to be reliable. I have owned 3 7.3's and one was a 02 Excursion, I'd recommend the 7.3.

If you want to spend the money, there is a company that converts new Ford diesel trucks into Excursions.
