Ballast settings for 2012 210 Team Edition

I am a new nautique owner and would like to know the best setups for surfing on my 2012 210 Team. If the kids are surfing on the port side should i fill the centre and port ballasts full?

Don't fill the belly ballast. Only fill the rear tank on the side your surfing. You may be able to get away with just stock ballast, but i think you will find it easier to surf with a few hundred additional pounds in the rear on the surf side.

Does it have NSS? If so fill the belly for a longer wave.

Absolutely, yes, port and center at a minimum. It might be different for you if you have NSS, but there's sure to be a longer sweet spot in the pocket with front and rear ballast. Without NSS, I run piggy back 750 sacs on top of the factory rear tanks, plus a sac in the ski locker plumbed to the belly. If your kids aren't that serious yet, then maybe it's overkill...just depends on your situation.

Thank you all for the responses. Kids are still learning. I will call Natique dealer for quote on NSS System. Is this worth the extra money?

I guess it depends on what it costs and how many people you have that surf on each side. If you have to switch sides a lot might be worth it...

Well I think my buddy and I got my 2008 210 about as dialed in as it can be. here is what we rode last weekend.

                gas tank 1/2 full
                belly 3/4 full
port rear 1,100 lb sac (almost all the way full)
under so called love seat seat stretching almost to bow about 450 lbs (could be bit fuller) w705 sac

basically whole boat leans sideways with some bow rise.

                It is pretty awesome!

I moved the sub from under love seat to port side just in front of 1,100 lb sac.

i really like this setup as there is no sac's out in the way.

We are new to surfing but this set up has been working ok for us. Port & centre tanks full, 400 wedge sac in rear locker, 370 sac on port side seat - hydrogate in the middle - speed approx 10.8mph. I'm sure with more experimentation we will be able to get a much better wave. Here's a lil vid - 2 peeps plus driver on board that day:-)

NSS is great of course for switching from regular to goofy instantly but it also really helps clean up the wave without having to move people or ballast around.

Here is a short video behind our 2012 210 with NSS. Stock ballast, all full (plus integrated bow sac). 3 adults including driver in the boat and 2 small kids.

                      f725,

Nice surfing video & good editing. Looks like I need to see if I can get NSS on my 2010 210 as it looks to knock down the rooster tail at the back.
