christening a new air nautique 216

I am getting a new air 216 TE this week. I would like to christen the boat and was wondering if anyone had information regarding christening ceremonies (what to say, when to break the champaign across the bow, etc.)- any info would be appreciated.

If you are, I wouldn't use anything but a bottle of SpringValley water, lest you defeat the purpose. :o  Mike

They do that on steal ships, I don't know that I would try to break a champaign bottle across the bow on my new gelcoat.

In 02, 4 of us went out for a "formal" christening of a buddy's
new Air Nautique. He stood at the bow with a bottle of champagne,
said his words - - - Then we drank the champagne. Worked for us.

Guess I scr-wed up. Gave the wife the bottle & she got "plastered". I slept on the couch while she "blew chunks" in the bathroom! OF

Boy, there was a brain fart. Tried to quote Eggie and somehow quoted
                        myself.

Eggie, a very good christening suggestion.

                            re Christening

Thanks for the input. Received the boat, got a cool christening off the internet and christened the boat "Totally Hip" (I am an orthopedic surgeon)

I'm reminded of the scene from Caddyshack where judge Smails was christening his new yacht; "It's easy to grin, when your ship comes in, and you've got the stock market beat. But the man worthwhile, is the man who can smile, when his shorts are too tight in the seat."
