Zach, sounds like you might use portable inflation for your companion.

mine had less than 5 but that includes white lake working on a engine cooling problem for a week and also testing the nss before delivery , David, threw excellent detective work found the problem, with that said 7 is way out of bounds if you ordered the boat new, if it was brought off the the show room maybe they demo it a lot if there is water close by I am surprise the dealer did not volunteer and say why the excessive hours.

Mine was custom ordered and had 1.8. All the other boats I have ordered were with I'm .2 of that.

Custom ordered and mine had 1.x, all from the factory. I arrived as they were still assembling the bimini and removing the shrink wrap so it never saw lake time from the dealer.

I'm not going to say 7 hours is a dealer breaker but it would bother me enough I'd at least ask. Considering most people I know don't even put 70 hours a season on their boat, 7 hours is likely 10%+ of what your boat will see in a year. Someone else did that to your boat, and there could be a very legitimate reason, but it deserves an explanation.

If I special ordered my car and I picked it up with a few hundred miles on it, I'd certainly want to know why and I'd be very displeased. 7 hours is certainly equivalent to a few hundred miles on a new car.

            Good luck,

            Dusty

i would guess it was just 7 or 8 test drives with other potential customers. it would not bother me. heck they might have founds some issues and fixed them for you, and saved you 2 or 3 trips to dealer.

We've had 11 new (ordered) boats over the years, and never had one come home with more than an hour. I agree with scottb7 that it was likely used for a few test drives. Back when I sold boats, we'd ask the owner first if we could use their new ride for a test drive. Maybe just ask the dealer to get the story, as the hours are high for new.

Yep sure is fishy! Not sure what dealer it is but I've heard of dealers using boats as their own personal fun toys also. Maybe the dealers kid wanted to take a G out on Saturday to do a little boarding with his buddies and yours was the only one all prepped and ready to go! I'm not making that up btw, no for a fact that it happens.

Of course the dealer will use a boat, it's pretty much industry standard. I know several sealers in Dallas that I will see on the water in a new boat ever weekend.

I would understand in a boat that the dealer has in stock, but not a boat that was ordered. I am most concerned about the rpms for the break in period. I have asked to get a report of the rpm usage before I accept the boat or sign on the dotted line. You think buying a boat like this would be a good experience but mine has been absolutely horrible. I was very anxious about getting my boat in the first place and making calls to my salesman every day. The day before the boat was supposed to come in I called and asked if he had heard from the trucking company yet and his response was " I am about to water test it" You think someone spending 120k would get a text message of their boat wrapped in plastic and arriving on the truck. You would think when you have been anxious like myself you would at least get a text or call saying the boat is in ahead of schedule. Not only does the boat have 7.6 hours on it now but it is behind schedule at the stereo shop and they haven't even drilled holes yet for the extra ballast we are putting in. All along I had a strict timeline with my dealer. Boat gets in Friday. Holes Drilled Monday, Stereo Tuesday, delivery on Wednesday. They had the boat in a full day earlier. Now I am being told they didn't have the parts for the ballast so they didn't do that yet, the stereo guy is taking his time because I didn't buy my stereo equipment from him. Also They will not call people and give me updates because they say bugging them will not make it get done any faster. The only reason the timeline is so serious because we are taking this boat on vacation at 5 am on Thursday and need it by Wednesday night. I have friends who have requested time off of work and we have been told all along that it shouldn't be a problem. I feel like I am freaking out and I do not want to bash the dealer yet as they still can make this right. I feel like they are doing nothing to try and make it right though. All I can say is I am stressed out and feel like I am being taken advantage of...

So did they just get the boat in last week? I would find it hard for them to put that many hours on the boat themselves in just the weekend of testdrives. I wonder if something was identified at the factory and it was run a bit longer there.

As for the other stuff, just try to keep calm and keep the communication between yourself and the dealer open and cordial. I suspect preparation and deliveries of boats are not that predictable some times and they can't really be blamed for you booking a holiday for the boat that close to delivery. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and hope this doesn't effect your holiday as we are dealing with issues too with our boat and an upcoming holiday, so I know how it feels.

                        Good luck.

If they just got it, 7 hours is a lot of weekend test drives. I personally would be p!$$ed if my ordered-out boat had more than 1 hour or so on it. I sold MC's for about 4 years during college, and we never delivered an order-out with over 1.5 on the hour meter...and that includes repairing some issues before delivery. I won't speculate on what went on with yours, but you're not being told something. Definitely ask your salesman. Over 7 hours is entering dealer-demo territory hours, at least in my experience.

I agree with that 100% - that's partly the reason a man orders a boat from the factory. If they used it (like my joke above - it arrived on "Friday"), I wonder if they got in it wearing street shoes and denim shorts with rivets in the pockets and put on suntan lotion and (if from n3) inflated the lady in the stowage compartment.

This thread is hard to follow but the guy waiting on all the extras to be put in his boat needs to take the boat on vacation then come back and put the extras in.

It looks like everything is getting worked out for the most part. 5.67 hours were at 700 rpms and 1.05 were at 1800. then very few above that. I believe it was a problem either at nautique or pcm. I still haven't heard what. All in all I just want my g23!
