Low Speed Vibration

I have not had the pleasure of seeing/driving my 2012 210 TE yet this year. My wife and father in law are on the lake and reporting an annoying heavy vibration of the boat from 1-6 mph that disappears after greater speeds.

Before I take my wife's observations as fact and pay to send a mechanic to the dock, does anybody have any ideas whether this a is normal low speed phenomenon or does it suggest something is wrong? They say they do not remember it doing it last year.

or something minor wrapped around the shaft or prop. Happened to me once, had a little piece of nylon rope wrapped(not my rope). Swim under and giv 'er a feel.

Does it do it in neutral in the same rpm range you're noticing while in gear?

Gonna say prop ding or something on the shaft or caught in the strut. Had a similar situation a few weeks ago. Cruising along at 20 and all of the sudden the boat started to vibrate violently. Didn't hit anything, but got it to the trailer and pulled it out. Inspected the prop with no signs of a hit, but saw something sticking out of the back of the strut. Reached back and pulled it out to find a small piece of wood about the size of a dime wedged in. Dropped her back in and problem solved. Amazing how something so small could cause such a mess.

I can say this. It doesn't take much of a ding or scratch to make one vibrate. I swapped a new of the shelf 645 to a repaired 1235 and my boat got smoother.

If the prop got shined up in the sand it may also be out of pitch a bit. A ding should be visible or you can feel it as you run your finger over the edges of the prop. You may not be able to see or feel a pitch issue.

I have more than once picked up a piece of "mulch" after a good rain. Boat vibrates hard even at low idle. One hard reverse, and then back into gear and problem solved. Not sure where the intruder is sticking into, but have cleared the issue up at least 4 times in the past two years.
