Seeing all the kid shots - at what age did you start them skiing / wake boarding / being behind the boat??

Our son is now 4 1/2 and is riding a kneeboard behind the boat. We had him on the ski trainer last summer and he also has a kids wakeboard. We pull him on the shore of the lake with a short handle to handle rope.

We started our daughter at 4 - she is now 6 and is really enjoying it this year . . . not so much at first.

do NOT MAKE them do anything....except beg for another turn.

Let them have fun at their own pace and make them envious of what's going on behind the boat. Mine were in the pool at less than 1 year. I towed them slow behind the boat slowly on a big toob to start. The boy was 5 and the girl was 4.

+1. Our boy went on the tube with me at 3 and didn't like it. Then he didn't want to be behind the boat cuz he was afraid of the "deep water". I will say one thing we have noticed, peer pressure is a wonderful thing when the kids are that age. Our son said no to the kneeboard about 4-5 times. Then he watched a friend that is a year younger do it and was like, "I'll do it now". Now he won't stop. Sometimes they need a little nudge that we as parents can't give them.

Good advice.........One bad experience can keep them away for years!!!
