Sport Nautique 200V , Not Air

Anyone have any pictures of their 200V without the wakeboard package.( No tower ) Curious know how one would look. Also curious if anyone has any input on using one for slalom course skiing, exclusively on a private lake.

I know it's hard to have it all, but I primarily use my boat for slalom on a private site, but we also use the boat on public lakes for family outings. My current boat ( 99 Ski) is great at the slalom necessity, but not so good for family outings. Especially since my wife brings so much stuff. As the kids get older 5 & 3, if they wanna bring friends we are SOL. I also would like to try and surf as lame as it seems LOL.!

The lake owner has an exclusive no vdrive rule at the lake, but he has not seen or know about the 200V. I am either thinking about keeping my 99 and buy a used vdrive. I rather not have to store, maintain and insure two boats. If the 200V is close enough in slalom performance, I am willing to sacrifice some slalom performance and gain the added versatility.

    BTW I ski 34mph, 15,22,28 and a few &32.

The boat skis great thru the course. It is the only Vdrive rated eligible to pull a slalom course. Maybe you could tell the lake owner that?

I did tell him, his concern was the slow speed wake, like tricks and teaching kids.

How slow is he talking? Is he afraid of the ballast tanks being filled up?

You can surf a 196 when weighted correctly... there are several on here... His rule should be on wake size, not on drives.

Sounds like the owner needs to ride in a 200v to see for himself.

My son surfs behind my 200 ski. Have the tower and run 650lbs in a sack in place of the rear seat. Let another adult sit on the storage/saddlebag and its not that bad. Not a G but it's a ski boat, isn't it? Sure the 200v would be better though. Any slow speed playing is gonna get a wake, ballast or not.

The 200v is based on a 200 hull from what I understand. It's a bit heavier, but honestly, it will probably put out a very similiar wake to a DD at 13 mph.

I heavily weight my 196 for surfing and it's a very good wave. It's at least as good as a 210 that has not been fully sacked out. At 8.5 mph it throws a big wave but it's due to the weight...not the boat.

You're thinking along the same lines as me, however it'll be a while before I can swing a new boat. You lose a little from the 200DD, but not much. If you stay stacked, you'll hardly notice the difference. I'm a huge DD fan, but the 200V has really won me over, I just don't have the funds for one. Not that you'd have much of a problem selling your SN, but I'd be interested in talking to you about it, depending on your timeframe. My boat plan is a TSC1, then 200V in the future.
