I use it every time we take the boat out. It does help prevent them, after the first use it does not take as much. Just a mist and a microfiber and your done..

Bought from Amazon...i will look to see if I can find it cheaper.
I saw the Lime Away reccomendation.... But didn't want to damage my boat, worries me:
Lime-a-Way and CLR
These products are corrosive and toxic. Do not use these products on natural marble, stone, terrazzo, anodized or polished aluminum, colored grout or areas in contact with food such as kitchen counter tops. Test the product in a small and inconspicuous place if you are not certain to avoid damage.
Lime-a-way is a product that removes hard water deposits and rust stains from tubs, showers, toilets, and glass and ceramic tiles. The product called CLR stands for Calcium, Lime and Rust.
These cleaning products contain proprietary blends of multiple heavy duty acids and are available in small quantities to be used in very small areas.
These hard water cleaning products are usually wiped on and then wiped off. Do not use a scrub brush to avoid spattering the cleaner.
Eye protection and gloves are also called for when using these products.
I don't care what you use, just thought I would offer up another sugestion on products that work.
Wipe on liberally, spray off with water. Heck I even use Meguiars spray on wax after I'm done. Boat is a '94 and gets compliments every time I have it out due to its condition.

Anything you use will work better in a pump up sprayer so you can mist it on evenly. It's like using a brush with upholstery cleaner and it makes the job a lot quicker too.

I've had hard water spots from Canyon Lake in Texas. The bottoman and shore are limestone. Splash some water....let it dry in the 100+ sun and you'll have excellent water spots.
Vinegar worked but only after either getting it hot in the sun or diluting it with hot water from the tap. Solubility increases significantly with temperature. I don't really like diluting it because it is only 5% from the store. I think the last time I dropped the vinegar bottle in a 5 gallon bucket of super hot water from the tap until they equalized.
Probably what would work the best is stronger vinegar...because even strong vinegar is still a very weak/safe acid. I think pickling vinegar might be 18%. That diluted slightly with hot water should be a cheap solution. If you can only find 10%, maybe just warm it up.
I keep a spray bottle in the back of my DTV for cleaning the glass.
