First Ski/Wakeboard boat. '99 Pro Air Nautique Questions?

I've owned several fishing boats over the past 35 years, from Jon boats to Jet boats, but this is my first Ski/Wakeboard boat. I've been behind a few (Moomba Mobius, X2, Malibu FlightCraft, all early 2000 models). I'm a high end custom home/cabinet builder, so I know quality and fine details which lead me to the Nautique. I had a hard time finding an open bow in my "budget" especially this time of year (I've made my money in the peak season selling boats, so can't complain). Anyway, I finally found a '99 PRO AIR NAUTIQUE with 800hrs on the 351HO carbureted PCM. Original owner who is more meticulous then me which is unusual. I realize the "PRO" with the TWC hull was only built for 3 years and in many opinions was a flop. I believe the decals on my boat to be original but has the TSC decal under the side windows. Does anybody have good pics of the two hulls (TSC/TWC in this era) so I can identify what Nautiqe I really bought? Thanks...........CRAB

100% positive that is a Pro Air Nautique. You can tell by the little strakes town the bottom part of the hull. Sports/Airs and SS/SANs do not have those. Only the Pro Air has those.

wasnt the TWC hull revised and used as the base for the early 2000's SAN 210? I would hardly call that a flop...

I'm getting a lot of conflicted stories with more opinions and assumptions than facts, so I have no idea. But I don't see the strakes on any other Nautiques that I have searched.

That is the Pro Air with the TWC hull. The TSC sticker on the side of screen was applied to all the Sport/Air hulls when actually none of them received the TSC1 hull that the Ski got in 1997. It was just all part of the marketing program, funny though that they applied it to the TWC Pro Air.

Here is a thread from CCfan that discusses the Sport/Air hulls from 1993-2002. This hull was the same as the Super Sports and then the SAN's were based on.

The Pro Air hull worked really good for making a big wake, but people liked the room of the V-drive.

For many years, the Super Sport/Super Air hulls were regarded as the best wake available. I believe the 1995 Super Sport hull bottom was basically unchanged from 1995 to 2006, or 2007, it was that good.

The Pro hull is indeed only made for a short period and not the same as the regular AIR/Sport hulls (or the V-drives Super AIR/Sport hulls).
But the Pro hull is really not a bad hull. Works really great and produces a nice wake without too much weight in it.
I personally think the hull is cancelled due to finance reasons (the Super hulls were getting more popular for wakeboarding), the business case was not solid enough to keep this hull in the program.

In the end, enjoy the boat. I personally think this hull is undervalued and deserves more credits.

Beautiful Pro Air! It puts out a great wakeboard wake.

This is pretty much correct. They made a slight change to the rear chine cut outs in 97 to improve low speed handling but it seemingly did not change the wake at all. Other than that the Super Sport/Super Air/210 hull was exactly the same from 95-2006.
