Looking to purchase either boat. Can anyone offer insight on either boat and why? Thanks for the advice.

What a joke. I surfed behind a new Z3 with the wave plate shaper thing about a month ago.
quick feedback in a nutshell: Impressive boat. i'd give it a solid "A" in all categories (it's a cheaper boat keep in mind) EXCEPT for surfing. "C--". Not impressed whatsoever. I could NEVER reccomend that boat to anyone who wants to surf. WEAK, tough to dial in and you reach your max capacity/capability VERy quickly. Yes there are some great vids and shots at water level of Z3s and the waveshaper plate in action.... Go see for yourself, you'll see. DEMO BOTH!!
i believe I was among the first to have bought a G solely for wakesurfing largely due to NSS... The NSS technology is far superior to anything else out there on the market IMO.2019 G23 450
2014 G23 550
2013 G23 450
2011 Malibu Wakesetter 247
2007 Yamaha AR210

I saw your post on TO a few days ago and was going to respond but didn't want to step on any Tige toes. I was in a similar situation last year as I was considering a Z1 or 210 (also a VLX) and ended up going with the 210 myself. It wasn't until a local boat show where I could see the boats nearly side by side did I really get the fit and finish quality feel of the Nautique over the Tige. I loved both boats and still have a soft spot in my heart for Tiges but when I priced them out there was only a $600 difference in price. Then I had to go with dealer and the Nautique dealer where I live was more experienced and their operation was run great. Let me tell you, that has paid off multiple times. I have had multiple problems with my 210 but the dealership stood on their heads for me and have the boat running perfectly. I have had calls from Nautique to me personally to apologize for the issues I had. It's the little things that have kept me loving my boat despite the early issues.
As for the wave, I can tell you that the NSS is legit and the surf wave is great.
Ryan, the ConvexVX brackets have all been recalled as the production ConvexVX's were not the same as the prototype and the waves were actually worse. They are only recently being replaced in the last couple of weeks. The wave is suppose to be better with the new brackets but they do need more weight than without the ConvexVX. Maybe that is why your Z3 wave wasn't as good.
Anyway, all of the boat manufacturers have issues. I know from experience that Nautique and my dealer have taken great care of me. Our boat feels solid and the NSS is amazing. I have not heard of a Nautique owner complaining about the NSS but many Surfgate and ConVX owners have disliked their product.
Good luck with your decision.

Seems to me like the big companies( CC, Tige, MC, etc ) building boats for surfing and wake boarding are trying to get to production way too fast. They're all coming out with new boats, new surf gadgets, etc, then as soon at they are put in use, problems arise. Apparently they don't spend enough time testing these products before being sold to the public.
I know you can't believe all you read on the internet, but Tige's having decks falling off, MC having tower and BIG recalls, Nautique after one year, changes the trans on the G boats are some examples you hear about. I guess I'm showing my age ( 59 ) cause boats today have so much stuff compared to yesterday. Technology is great, but can be difficult to perfect, especially in a marine environment.

I don't think the changing of the V-Drive on the 409/450 was a result of problems. There are many of us on here that have a 450 with the "old" transmission and we aren't having any issues. Personally, with stock ballast and a reasonable number of people, my G with 450 gets on plane as well as any other boat I owned that was weighted. NSS was added after the fact and works as advertised.
With that said, if Nautique can make a change that gives the 409/450 a better hole shot with a change in v-drive, why wouldn't they do it? Continual improvement is the name of the game.

After looking at the ConvexVX I think it basically just puts more hull in the water. I think all of the stuff about it pushes the propeller stream into the wave is just marketing. It essentially turns your 23ft boat into a 25ft boat which will surf a little bit better. NSS on the other hand actually changes the way that the water flows and gives you a much more adjustable wave. I still say, however, that if you are buying a boat just for surfing get an Enzo.

I agree with Perry386 if you just want the best surf wave, look at the Enzo Fx-22 or the Supreme V226 - all have dialed in wakesurf waves. Of the choices, I would get the 230 with NSS that you have listed, wish my 210 was elegiable for NSS, but hey maybe there is a g21 on the way with NSS...

the best thing to do it surf behind both boats if you can. ive surfed the tige and its a steep wave, takes getting used to.
would love to surf a 230 or G.04 SANTE 210
