    Centurion CATS system

Hey guys I was fooling around on youtube today and stumbled upon a video of Centurions new system called the CATS system. It is basically a tracking fin that you can turn left or right to clean up your wake/wave. It works for wakeboarding and wakesurfing. No more forcing your buddies to sit on the other side of the boat! I am liking Centurion more and more. They are making some impressive stuff and are working their way up here. Still a little ways from Nautique and MC but their getting there slowly but surely. You can check out the video here. --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CF9_-q4TbF8

Talked to a few people who demoed the new Centurion with RAM fill... They said it caused too much disturbance in the water and made the wave very soft. Also the sloshing around of water in the tanks caused the boat to porpous like crazy. Maybe it was just not set up right but not a good first impression.

Well thats not good. I was more interested by the CATS system then the RAMfill. 5-10 minutes on filling sacs is no big deal. Just sit there and listen to some music with your friends.

I looked at a Centurion at the boat show although the cats and ramfill look pretty cool the rest of the boat is nowhere near Nautique . I asked about the foot tall fiberglass wall in the middle of the bow walkway . The salesman said it was a support structure and that is why all other boats flex at the windshield so much. I just figured he has never been in a Nuuti and let it go.

Got some bad news for you. Correct Craft boats have some flex in the bow too.

I surf weekly behind a 2012 24+ Enzo. The wave is insane, but the build quality and design inside the hull are miles behind Nautique. The boat is noisy, rattles, and water collects in all sorts of places. The overall finish and materials are also second to Nautique, my 07 "feels" better in many ways (vinyl, carpets, planned drainage, etc.).

What do you conciser flex? All boats flex if they didn't they would break . What he was referring to was gel cracking and having so much flex that the center windshield will fall through the opening. CC doesn't have a foot tall bulkhead in the walk through and still somehow manages to not have abnormal flex or gel cracks.

I know that they aren't up to par on the build quality because no manufacturer is on the same level as CC and MC for quality. A boat that is much noisier than I expected it to be is the 2013 MC Prostar. Maybe it is because I am not used to DD but it seemed pretty loud to me. The quietest boat I have ever been on is a Supra I was on last weekend. I don't remember the model but that thing barely made a sound.

And for the flex situation--I've never noticed flex in any boat I have ever been in. Even my '92 Dynasty didn't flex so much that it was noticeable.
