    Exact surf setup for G23?

Who out there is willing to share the best surf set up they have used with their G?

I have played around a lot but keep going back to 10.9mph full starboard full port 5/8 belly. NSS 4 NCRS 5. Gives a pretty steep port side wave with good length. Have the 1100 bags in each locker but don't use them.

All of the playing around and I am basically at the stock settings.

Would like to keep the length and make the wave taller.

When I fill both locker bags the boat struggles. A new prop might be the ticket. Both locker bags at half make the wave just ever so slightly better.

    What settings are everyone using?

I am at the factory setting for me NSS 0 and NCRS 5. Its a pretty steep wave with plenty of push at 10.9-11.1 mph. I'm 210 lbs just for reference. I don't mess around with extra ballast, its too big of a pain for me. Also we go with even weighting, maybe slight cheat to surf side. Only way I know of to get the wave taller is more weight so you have to look at the pros and cons of doing that.

      Step 1. ACME 2315 prop.

      Step 2.

Full OEM Ballast. All 3 tanks.

      Speed 11.6 - 12MPH

NCRS 4-5, Surf Vert 0-3, your preference

1100 extra in the surf side trunk. Completely maxed out.

200-500 extra in the other trunk... if you get stuck, move an extra guy up the the bow to bring the bow down and reduce the prop shaft angle. Otherwise, all your passengers sitting on the surf side.

THAT will get you a raging surf wave.

Did you reinforce the compartment for the side that has 1100 in it? When I put my 1100 in it bent the side wall in the compartment all the way in. It is some type of plastic and I was able to bend it back. I have a 750 in currently and it puts no pressure on the side wall.

I'm with you. I bought the G to get rid of the extra ballast hassle I had with my 2010 230. Factory is enough for me. I adjust the NSS between 5 and 3 and add 0.2 mph if we have a head wind. If there is a kid learning to surf, I will adjust it down a little more to eliminate the intimidation factor. I still have a 750 and 400 (that I have never used) just in case I get ambitious, but for now I'm happy with the way it came.

Been thinking about pulling the trigger on that prop for a little while now. Sounds like it might be time. Thanks.

Has anyone found a combination that allows you to switch sides and get a good wave without adjusting speed?

When they make videos of transfers they are using some trickery for sure. What is it?

we surf with just stock setting, great wave with no hassle, I have gone out with just me,being the driver and the rider, still great wave. Whats nice everybody can sit where they want with no leaning. We switch sides all the time, we don't change a thing, its all about timing ,,the rider tells the driver to switch and then the rider counts to 4 and switches, it takes awhile to coordinate the timing , I would suggest first to get up and ride switch first ,to get the feel of whats its like before switching, that way when you do make it ,,,it will feel somewhat natural.

We generally surf with just stock. NSS 4 or 5, NCRS 4 or 5, speed usually between 10.9-11.3. While others in my family surf with all the tanks full, I usually like to have the belly ballast at 7/8, port side full, and starboard 7/8.

I threw a 500 pound fat sac in the other weekend on top of my settings and the wake was awesome, but def. not required for a good surf wake. We usually have four little kids and four adults on the boat when we go out and they sit where ever they like (another plus!).

750 in each rear locker. Full port factory, 7/8 belly factory, 3/8 stb factory, 2 people on reversible seat(400 lbs), driver, port spotter, port middle spotter, port person in bow, 11.2 mph, 1 and 1 for settings for surf. For skim we used same ballast, 10.9, 0 and 1 or 0 and 0 for settings

Has been a raging success so far and will be the setup in the 10,000 lakes open this weekend. Does not matter what boat peole usually ride, this wave is awesome.

Is the acme 2315 prop what comes standard on g23 2014?

What are the advantages/disadvantages of it over factory prop?

Would it do anything on the warranty? What about the prop shear issue?

                              For what is worth.
We have a 2014 g23, (love it by the way)
                              All we do is surf.
We never exceed 2500 lbs of additional weight in the boat.
I generally make note of the people we are bringing and factor that.
Normal lake day is 7 people, about 1000 to 1200 lbs when the surfer is in the water.
We all surf on the port side.
We fill the factory ballast at 100% for port and belly and 75% for starboard.
This is 2550 lbs of factory ballast.
We add a 400 lb Ronix in each rear locker and another 400 under the port side seat.
We keep these filled all day and only drain the factory ballast if we are making run down the lake to eat.
The 400s don't take up much room in the rear lockers and we put jackets and towel bag in those lockers on top of the bags.
People in the boat are pretty evenly distributed, although biased to surf side.
NCRS is set at 4 to 5 and NSS 1 to 3.
Speed is 10.8 to 11.6 depending on the board we are riding at the time.
Wake is incredible, just below my arm pit near the back and has power 10 to 15 feet past the rope length.
Wake is well defined with an awesome curl and tons of power.
If we load up with people we just reduce the additional ballast so we don't exceed 2500 lbs of extra weight.
With the tsunami pumps 1 minute equals about 150 lbs.
Anyway that's what works for us.
