Ordered my new 2014 200 OB

I have been chasing buoys for as long as I can remember and it’s time for a new boat. My current boat is a 2006 Malibu Response LXi and the boat before that was a Mastercraft. It’s been a good boat but it’s time for a change. I ordered a new 2014 200 OB a few weeks ago. I have always been a fan on the Ski Nautique but the price tag was more then I was willing to pay.

So the question is with the new Mastercrafts 197 redesign is this the right time to buy? Should a wait another year to see how this all plays out? Is the Nautique wake optimal and the new MC is just going to be closer to the same but not better?

This is my first Nautique. Keep the order or wait one more year?

It all depends on the size of your wallet.
Take a look at Treyskiers promo and you will get the same boat for a lot less. Promo boats are dialed in and in most cases, brand new with warranty issues taken care of.

It's good to see you found you way over to Planet Nautique! (Brennan from Auburn here)

Personally, I don't think there is ever a bad time to get into a 200. It still is the boat to beat. Maybe the new ProStar will change things; but the 200 will still have a world class wake.
Plus I still can't get over that pickle fork bow...

Hey Brennan. I found out from Goode that my front boot was mounted 1/4 inch back from factory. Moved them forward and that made a huge difference!!!

So my main concern is that Nautique makes a big change in 2015 to the 200 which would devalue my 2014. I know the MC 2013 PS197 boat owners just took a big hit on there investment. I talked to Nautique and they said there are no plans to make any changes. Not a fan of the pickle fork either.

          Please consider a promo boat.

Also...consider this: The best time to plant an oak tree is 20 years ago. The second best time...is TODAY.

Of course I'm bias, but I agree. Support the people that support tournaments!

My 2013 200 Team OB Promo is for sale. I'm in Va, but have sold one in your area. Met the buyer half way.

Indeed, Dave's boat will be mint. Get references and know the boat before buying, if one is to go promo. There was a video a year ago of a 200 promo being used as an ice breaker for a new years set. I'm sure it didn't hurt it, but there plenty out there that have seen zero abuse.

I'd personally have a hard time pulling the trigger on any boat right now, before testing out the new MC. I'm sure I'd still end up with a 200, but I'd sleep better knowing I looked at the competition. If you really want to save money right now, go pick up a 2012 or '13 promo 197...fire sale!
