G23 Prop Fell Off .....

Great point Bevo.....and let me add....this is not just affecting the owners that this has already happened to once and even twice...but as someone mentioned previously....EVERY time they take out their G23 or even G21 they have to "worry" about a shaft breaking. Why should a Nautique owner have to even have this on his mind now. Kinda puts a cloud on every outing away from the ramp or dock thinking...is this my day??? ****....I like to take fall and winter rides just to run it and sometimes there is rarely another boat out there. Sucks to have to think about calling someone out just to come get you. And YES...I know "other" things can happen to a boat...but right here right now i'm talking just shaft failure on the Nautique G series.

I am one of those owners who stresses every time I go out. My kids both double check to make sure we have our tow strap on board when we pack.

I have posted this before and some of made fun of me...But we are only people on lake early and late in the season...It came with the boat as former owner had the shaft break...I kept it for peace of mind.

Wish he would have ordered it in "Masters Blue" to match the boat.

When you attach the trolling motor to the stern platform does it take two folks to steer the boat (one at helm and one operating tiller handle on stern platform) or just one operating tiller handle?

Honestly I don't know. Cause what I did was when I got the boat, I hooked it up, made sure it worked and that it could get the boat moving. And then I put it back away. I even took it out of the boat and then changed my mind and put it back in.

I didn't pay attention to they way the boat rudder was facing at the time. But I figured with 2 batteries on a small lake I would be ok no matter what.

I would guess you would have to use both tiller and rudder. You would not want one pointing one way and one the other.

Frustrating, but IMHO probably not this forum or Jeff's fault that Nautique doesn't deal with this...Only Jeff can assess the reasonableness of the amount he individually or as a representative of this forum, his forum, pushes Nautique.

I am sure Nautique would be open to that at any time. Historically we have done that at new model release, not yearly. If there is interest, and enough questions, we can set one up.

Given the numerous posts on this topic, this would allow those-(us)-probably the best connected customers, to ask Nautique directly about the flaw, its cause, the remedy, etc. I understand Nautique customer professionals might be reticent to discuss this issue and others (and have the discussions "on record"), but we are all ambassadors of sorts for this brand (or not, depending on Nautique's transparency)...
