    ballast pumps

    does anyone know were i can purchase a two way pump for my ballast tanks on my 97 sport i have pump that will pump water in and it is supposed to gravity flow out but i cant seem to get them to empt untill i am out on the water and i pull the plug on the bottom of the boat

    you could use a simer pump. It is a impeller pump that you can reverse the polarity on the motor and have it fill and empty. Many people use these in their systems. I have installed 3 systems using them.

        Depneds on the part of the country you are in. I got mine at a local store called Farm & Fleet. They were around $55 each. I have also seen them at Mendards. I think there is a place online called B-Atlas or Atlas something like that I am not to sure that sells them. The model that you want is a BW85P mini vac pump. Check on Wakeboarder.com or Wakeworld.com for more info. There are a lot of threads there regarding these pumps.

          Keep in mine that Simer pumps are not "ignition protected" so they should not be used in spaces that may have gas vapors, like engine compartments. If it needs to go in the engine compartment or near the fuel tank you need to use the more expensive Jabsco ballast puppy.
