    Wakesurf on a Crossover 216V

    Hello guys,

I am looking at buying a used boat here in switzerland, but it's very hard to find a port spot to park the boat.
I finally found a boat that gets sold with its spot and I have an important question about it (and few others)

    It's a 2009 crossover 216v team edition (409hp special engine), 85 hrs - 65kchf (65k dol basically)

My main question is about wake surf. Is the wave good enough to practice it? (that would be our main activity)? Should we/can we add additional ballast? How does that work?
Basis the fact I don't really have alternative here, I will need your best knowledge. I know it's not a 210 for ex but does it still handle surf well?
What about this big engine? Does it consume way more fuel? Is it a proven quality engine or does it have more problem than the usual 343 hp?

Thanks a lot for your help. Will try to surf it but need to find a board now

From photos: The one feature you will want to understand is the storage locker on the aft port side, this is where the "walk-through" from the cockpit to the stern is located. The wak-through feature is created by lowering the height of the sun pad, which directly reduces the storage volume and vertical clearance in the storage locker. Therefore, if you intend to utilize that space to install ballast sacs to enhance the surf wave, you'll want to measure the space first, and determine what sacs will fit. Otherwise, you can place a ballast sac right in the walk-through, but then the walk-through feature is negated.

It has an ok surf wake. Yes you can add weight. Eats up a lot of rule. It dose not like to plane out, but that is pretty low hours for an 09

Hi Awakewilson, not being a native english speaker, didn't get quite well what you meant by: "Eats up a lot of rule. It dose not like to plane out, but that is pretty low hours for an 09"

Do you guys know what was the listed price of this baot back in 09? the dealer here says 120kchf, which would be approx 120k dol. It's a 216v 409hp, team edition
          thanks

Just a guess that those are errors and this is what was meant: rule = room (adding ballast sacs eats up a lot of room); dose = does.

List on them in 09 was around $72,000 US but they never went for that.

I really like my 216v. I does surf well and you can board very well too. Like someone mentioned above, it does need additional ballast to perform.....

                          Tanks guys for tour Help.
If i end up buying it, I'll need your advice toomuchuv regarding how to properly ballast it!!

Another question/concern came to my mind. The dealer said the boat spent the first two months (4 years ago in salt water). Is that a big drawback I need to take into account? The guy says that because it's a zr6, impact is minimal. Do you guys agree with that?

Regarding the winterization, I find it to be very expensive here in geneva, how hard is it to do it by myself?

                          Thx for your comments again

Do you know if the boat was moored in salt water for 2 months or it was it just put in during use over those 2 months? If it was taken out of the water and washed down good after each use then I would be less worried about it. The ZR6 is closed cooling so sea water is only being used to cool the exhaust system. If that was flushed after each use it should still have a lot of life left in it. If you look at the engine mounts and don't see rust then it is probably in pretty good shape. I would also try to look for rust on the battery cables and wiring. If it was cared for properly then it should be ok but salt water use usually results in a reduced selling price.

Winterization on a ZR6 should be pretty easy since you don't have to worry about draining the block. Hopefully somebody that has that motor can give you a definitive answer but it should be an easy job but it's one you have to make sure you get right.
