If it was me I would not get the 2013 without insisting on the thicker propeller shaft. Just sayin...

Have a look at both and make your own mind up. Theres a few improvements on the 14 spec eg head unit controlled via linc and the surf pipe that can be added onto the 13 spec boats. Theres also a drive line upgrade on the '14 spec boats to help them drive a bit better (for the 409 and 450hp engines).

Mine shouldnt be too far away now!!!

Come to DFW and buy my 13 with a 450 so I can get the 14 with the 550. The shaft problems are only on the 13 with the 550's.

Thanks...they have a '13 409 and 450...trying to decide if the hp is worth the extra 7k...or pay the extra 14k for the '14 with 450hp...

It all depends on how you plan to use the boat. If you're going to run full stock ballast, plus 2000+ more in additional weight (either people or ballast...the boat is rated for stock plus 16 people or another 2500 pounds), then I'd give strong consideration to the 550. If you're typically going to just have stock, plus only a few people then the 450 is adequate.

If you are really serious about purchasing. I know of one with a 550 that might actually cost less than the two 450's you are looking at. Shoot me a message if you are interested to learn more.

I agree with all the above statements. After owning a 13 g23 with the 450, I'm upgrading to the 14 with a 550. With full ballast, 10 people and a reduction prop I still needed more.

I agree with all above 100%. I would never buy a G23 with a 409. I too had a '13 with a 450 and upgraded to a '14 with a 550. Ironj is right on, anything over full factory ballast + 1500 lbs (ballast or people) needs a 550. This is definately true on the '13 boats, '14 boats may perform better with that weight because of the drivetrain upgrades.

My 13' had tons of bugs that made me did like the boat. I would go with a 14' because in sure most of the bugs will be worked out. I had a 450 stock was no problem but stock plus 10 people very very hard to get to speed. Go for the 550hp.
