June 15th: White Lake Marine and CorrectCraft are bringing JD Webb to Raleigh for a clinic on Wednesday, June 15. There will be three sessions (8am, 10am, 2pm) for up to 4 riders per two-hour session. This format gives you time to ride, relax, and ride again. Cost will be $60 per rider for four riders. If you want more ride time, three can gang up for $80 apiece. Contact sanfan (Luke) via pm or email at "luke AT creedmoornc.com" for information. I'll be glad to get your name down and take a check or cash, but you'll need to call Shannon at WLM-Graham for credit cards or I.O.Us. Call her at (336)221-9005 or email at "ken AT whitelake.com". Make sure you get paid up to reserve your spot.
Plan to be at the Upper Barton's ramp 30 minutes or so before your session, bring your gear, boat & water provided. Plan on hanging around after your session for an extra run or to try the hydrofoil. See you there!
Important note: Because the good water is a bit of a run from the Upper Barton's Creek ramp, I suggested the 4-person, 2-hour sessions. The plan is that the 4 people in the boat get a full two hours which works out to 30 minutes apiece on the rope, with me using my SAN to bring the next group out and swap. By default the riders also get an hour and a half of rest time to observe the other riders and the instruction that they get, which has always been beneficial for me. Since I plan to spend the day on the water anyway, any of the riders "in transit" from a session are welcome to hit my wake, and that riding is "free" as my contribution to the outing. I love to pull and watch people ride, so I was looking forward to that as much as meeting JD.
However I am by no means an expert at this. If another format would be better, please let me know. The only goal in this whole plan is that it's a positive experience for everybody involved.
If you have an idea, hit me here or via PM. If there are several that would rather have 30 dedicated minutes, I'll get you there and back so that your full time slot is spent behind the boat. You can slide off the back of my SAN for your first run. The only negative to that is it would be difficult to sneak in the extra runs.
