    Passenger capacity '08 230 (14) vs '09 230 (16)

How come for the same boat in '09 it went from 14 to 16 maximum passengers?
    Anybody know?

I feel like changing to the '09 sticker that says 16 people max capacity. I could re-change it before reselling the boat. Is that dangerous/stupid/irresponsible? lol
Obviously we wouldn't be 16 very often if at all, but I like the bigger capacity possibilty. Having the changed sticker would prevent me from getting a ticket if I get intercepted by the cops.

I asked the same question. I've got an '08 236 and saw the discrepancy so I asked my dealer about it. They said I could have Correct Craft print me a new one. That's what I did, it was about $15 and it has my boat's particulars on it with the new capacity of 16. Simple at that!

What ''particulars'' are written on it?

So it's simple as that I can just change the sticker? I thought there might have been a specific reason for boats being less capacity in '07-'08.

Was gonna get this one: http://www.nautiqueparts.com/decalma...300pounds.aspx

It says Super Air 230 so I would be ok I guess.

Nothing changed between 07-08, they just changed how they calculated capacity which lead to an increase in passengers on 210s and 230s and maybe some others. There is an old thread on here somewhere that has some more info but back in 08 dealers were sending new capacity plates to customers with 07 boats that requested them.

If I remember right, I believe the VIN number is on the new sticker. The boat is at our cottage I'll prob be there in the next couple weeks to pull it outta the water for winter. I'll take a look and let you know.

Good to know. From what people are saying I'll just change the sticker.

              Thanks!

Well it certainly means something to the WI DNR and Sheriffs! They will give tics if you are over what your capacity plate( that's what they call it) says.

But wonder what they would do if you didn't have one?
