Got pics from Larry yesterday. It's in fiberglass and getting gel coated next week

That's interesting, considering the gelcoat is the FIRST thing sprayed into the mold! Fiberglass goes in second.

Maybe I'm not saying this right. The fiberglass of the boat is made , the hull looks like resin and fiberglass. It goes to gel coat next week.

I'm assuming that gel coat needs to be sprayed onto the actual fiberglass correct?

Nope. The mold is sprayed with a release agent, the gelcoat is sprayed directly onto the mold, then the fiberglass is laid on top of (on the inside of) the gelcoat. Then the boat is pulled from the mold with the gelcoat already adhered to the fiberglass.

Jeff was correct !

Got email from Larry yesterday

"I found out your boat was gel coated today. I will go by the lamination area to check it out."

I guess confused and thought gelcoat was sprayed on fiberglass.
