I like the idea of a diesel, it weighs more so less ballast, the RPM range is broad enough for our boats that barely go above 45mph. It makes sense with how stupid big the G23/25 are.

However I would prefer the next development to be an electric motor. Use a Diesel motor to power a generator that powers an electric motor. Crazy amount of torque and quite efficient.

i have a 236 as well with the zr6 and loaded for wakeboard i get around the same as you. surf is a little different, we get roughly 4-5gph.

a turbo diesel g23 would make sense for less gas consumption, the only down fall is......how much heavier will the g get once that heavy cast iron block is thrown in the rear, i believe a 3-4 axle trailer will be required just to haul the 23 little a loan the 25.

I love the g23 and would love to have one, but once the numbers fuel consumption numbers started showing up on the boards, my 236 became a lot nicer!!

what about twisting a v-drive to bits...or the tranny with all the torque? just my 2 cents.... avoiding turbo lag on hole shot is probably a challenge

        HIT IT!

        wait for it

        wait for it

oh crap, my board isn't in the right spot anymore I'm not ready

        oh, we're going......

Variable vane turbos eliminate turbo lag. Take a look at all of the technologies that have entered via diesel engines in the past 10 years.
