They wont take away our NSS. If they wanted to play that way then we would just take away their tower. Nautique patented the wakeboard tower but the other companies just pay us a royalty for them to use it. There is another thread on here that goes very in-depth about all of it.

I believe Nautique's wakeboard tower patent only covers 4-post towers, not the two-post towers that are being used currently.
      Current: 2017 G23

Surf gate resembles a trim tab more than nss. I don't get how a patent would stop nss production. Unless the patent doesn't allow others to use a "wake diverging device"

This what was qouted. They did cover wake divergence in the patent.

          http://www.themalibucrew.com/forums/...cording-to-pr/
"I'm sure some of the claims were changed in the final granted patent but that one has pictures. Reading the description I think this looks like trouble for Nautique. Malibu was careful to cover the concept of a divergent wake device, and listed some possible iterations, but appears to have language covering multiple iterations that NSS would violate."

AFAIK- Other wake boat companies are still charging a "Wakeboard Tower Licensing Fee", no matter if it is 2 point or 4.

Nautique will stop making the NSS about the same time Samsung stops making smart phones.

well she is in residency now then she will make good money, plus I have a bike, ski and wakeboard store as well as trading in our current wakeboat, I am sure we will be fine.

I had to wait for my wife to finish residency (and a fellowship) before we ordered our Nautique... Letting her pick the colors went a long way! I'd still trade the boat for all of the years we didn't see each other much though.

I know, nothing like a lot of call shifts and missing out on kids growing up. It was her idea on the first boat, so the second one she will have her options on color and options. I was find with a a22 with surf gate but she wants on with heated seats etc.
