    New member help

Hello all, new member here. I am going to be purchasing my first nautique next year. However, i have never owned an inboard boat. Grew up in tampa fishing center consoles my entire life with outboards. Looking at the nautiques, as far as layout goes i am leaning toward a used sv211, maybe an 05 or 06. Have 3 kids now and they got a taste of lake life this summer so the bug has bit.

Does anyone have any good info on pcm motors, positive or negative and are there specific issues to be aware of on used motors? What is typical lifespan of a pcm on the sv211?

    Thanks in advance.

PCM motors are outstanding machines; you can't go wrong. I traded my '05 211 in on a '13 Sport 200v last winter; it had 1020 hours and the new owner can have another 1000 hrs of fun. Key is to perform regular maintenance; I never had any major issues; I gave all my maintenance records to the dealer when I traded it in which was very helpful to the new owner. Saw my old boat on my lake during the summer; still looked like it was a 1-2 years old. We loved the 211 for the family (wakeboarding, surfing and slalom). I typically keep my boats for 7-8 years and we put ~125hrs on the engine each season. We have really enjoyed the slalom wake on the 200v compared to the 211; the 211 was Nautique's best v-drive crossover when we upgraded back in '05. Don't hesitate to PM me if you have questions.
