    2014 210 options?

purchasing a 2104 210 need some advice on options- heated seat or heater? I do my own winterizing and do not want a heater if it is complicated to drain or extra maintenance. also buying for surfing (know that a g and 230 would be better- can afford also too big for slip) ordering the nss but during the test i had everyone but the driver off and even with the added factory ballast it was a struggle- ( I am an expert surfer been doing it for years) it was much better with 3 people in the front observer seats. question to order factory extra ballast and then have fat sac make new bags or just plumb myself- did it on my 09 210 and it was like night and day but with the l shaped tanks dont know how it is done. any other advice would be appreciated.

    Gobucks-

As a consideration, some engines are 1/2 loop cooling, so your heater would have antifreeze vs raw water. I know for sure the 450s are 1/2 loop..... So if you were considering the engine upgrade, that could be the tipping point with no heater winterization.... That extra power will also definitely help if you are buying the boat primarily for surfing ... You 'll want 750s-1100s in addition to OEM ballast and NSS in those rear lockers and another 750-1100 up front. 450 will get that done!

Archcityblues, how do you setup the 210 for surfing. I bought a 2014 210 four days ago. It's loaded for the most part, but doesn't have the additional factory ballast. My family almost exclusively surfs. Please advise on ballast and setup.

without the additional ballast, i would piggyback both rear tanks with 350 bags in rear lockers. thats about all. you are going to want to keep the boat as evenly weighted as you can. the nss works so well with your boat. youll be able to shape the wave so much.
