I'm not hating, but thats pretty much garbage.
3800rpms for a 10.6mph washed out shin high wave?
3800rpms means they had a lot of weight and a lot of trim going on. 10.6 is slow, to create the illusion of a bigger wave, yet would lack push for folks over 180lbs.
To put it in comparision, 3800rpms gets you:
Waist high 20ft+ long PERFECT formed surf wave slammed and leaned in a 247 at 11.6mph.
Belly to Chest high 15-20ft long on a G23 450 or 550. 550 def chest high at 11.6mph.
And I am 6ft.
Anyone think it would be fun to surf behind that on that small wave with the pipes screaming in your face at 3800rpms? Not me.
Classic example of where the senior leaderhip of a company are so elite and insulated they arent getting honest raw feedback and continue to produce this crap.
Who after R&D of this went to the MC CEO and said "Sir, Gen 2 MC Surf system sucks. we need more time to further develop or we need to go another route."
I guess Nautique has me spoiled.2019 G23 450

At 3800rpms you are close to being maxed out weight wise... their only option would be to add more to the bow to reduce the prop shaft angle some.... then the wave will get smaller, littlw longer.
most boats will computer rev limit 4000rpms for wavesurfing....2019 G23 450

^^ I donno Shawn. I can tell you the 247 with the 6.0L would max cavitate at 4000rpms....wouldnt go higher... and the same with the PCM 6.0L 450. When you put too much weight in there it would rev to 4000, and you'd only be going like 10mph.
I think its a safety mechanism where the computers monitor speed in relation to RPMs, so as not to damage or overheat. Never have beed in the 5000+ range at surf speeds even with the throttle thrown all the way down.
and the 550.... I havent got it stuck yet to verify even with my heaviest loads.2019 G23 450

But the point I was making, not sure if you missed.... is that 3800rpms is already certainly is at the upper limit for anyone surfing 10-12mph. Anything north of 3500rpms.... and well you have a screaming loud working hard V8.
I think there is a big difference in the comfort level doing 3800rpms at 20-30mph..... at 10-12 not so pleasant.2019 G23 450

i agree with both of you, shawn and ryan
...on the other hand...so as not to offend people i will make an analogy: got this friend that bought a new snowboard and bindings. he paid big bucks. i have old gear that is pretty moderate in price. we tried each others board and they rode exceedingly similar. but he thought his was much better. told me why for like a half hour. and he really meant it. and maybe he was even right, don't know for sure. we don't have a tie breaker to ride them both. or maybe the more some people pay the better they think their stuff is. do you deny there are some people like that? how would you know if you were one? I don't think it is possible to know if you were like that. But believe me, others can tell. just an analogy.
