1993 Ski Nautique Advice

Hello All,
First post on the forum. Great site with a lot of info.

I am shopping for a second boat (I have a wakeboard boat from the other brand ) and I want it to be a solid performer in slalom and barefooting. Over the last couple of years I have become more passionate about improving on slalom and barefooting but my current boat can't get me there and my entire family does not share in these passions so I will be keeping my MC. I am going to look at a 93 SN today that I think is in great shape. Can you give me the low down on this model year? Good, bad, and ugly

93 was the first year of composite stringers so there is no wood in the structure to worry about which is obviously a good thing. Do you know which motor it has?

5.8L Pro Boss GT40 @310hp is what is listed. It is a carb engine for sure so not sure if the engine description is 100% correct.

Yep, the Pro Boss is not a GT-40. The GT-40 engines were all fuel injected, I believe.

93' Carbbed Pro Boss is rated around 300hp, good ski hull and more then enough power to pull you footing. The Pro-tech ignition original equipment on that motor is known to have problems, if there is not a conventional distributor with cap/wires then it still has the original pro-tech. Still some pro-techs out there working however I believe a majority have failed, mine only lasted 10yrs. Kit to replace is about $500.00 plus labor. The only other negative (IMHO) on the 93' is the slant back hull, looks great but makes it tough to sit while putting on ski's, boards, etc.
