Sorry dude. It would be the worst thing to see your pride and joy sitting there looking like that. Heck I wrecked my neon in college and I was pretty tore up it was such a great little car. Can't imagine if it were my boat or my 67. Good luck with all this if you need values on anything I am sure I can help in some way.

      Maxx,

Would not get yourself all worked up, if you have insurance and the policy was active there is no reason you stated for them to deny coverage, if Texas insurance reg's are similar to Ill, even if you had homeowners on the building/structure it would not have covered the boat, that is what the boat policy is for. This is exactly what insurance is for, accidents.

      Tool,

That is surprising they denied coverage on your story, where does his culpability fall, under stupid?? If insurance company's didn't pay claims that were a result of stupidity, 95% of claims would be denied, lol

            All,
The latest information is as follows; The SkiSafe has all the information including the Fire Marshall's report, huge thank you to him for writing this quickly, photos, policy was definately active at the time of the fire, and any other documentation that they asked for. They stated that there would be no need for an adjuster to come out, but no difinitive answer on whether or not this will be covered. We have all the help needed for now, and looking for a dump site to dispose of the shed and other large parts. The rollup door will have to be sawed open because it is seized shut. The electricity is shut off at the main pole and everything else is secured. The actual shed is about to fall, but nothing can be done until this weekend.

So, now we wait on the word from the insurance....

I am so sorry for your loss. I feel this would be a typical loss for Fire with a boat. I would be completely shocked if they didn't cover you completely for the amount insured, even the trailer. I am a current Ski Safe insurer as well, we are all waiting for your good news. The Ski Safe team seems super legite...

On a side note, the guys over at Dockside are really good. There should be no reason for you to go to Dallas, go see Charles and team at Dockside. They are one of the only dealers that have both Nautique and Mastercraft so you can get a side by side comparison easily.

This is a sad story and that photo is tough to look at. I can't think of any reason that the boat wont be covered and I am sure it is totaled. On the up side, you will not have to deal with making sure the reparis are done right, but will have to find a new boat.

I can't imagine dealing with this from so far away.

Agree and that also reminded me of something, Cannot see your trailer in the pic, in my situation the trailer had very little damage so initially the insurance co. only wanted to pay the boat claim, I had no use for the trailer and did not want it, took some haggling to get them to take the trailer also, when I asked them how they intended to remove the hull from my trailer inside my garage they came to their senses and took the trailer as well.

If you or a buddy can get to the boat I would try to pull the prop, board racks, or other parts that would not be damaged during a fire. Considering the flip-up passenger seat base is not even melted it looks like the boat did not get very hot so things inside storage compartments might be in decent shape. Gas tank for sure did not catch fire, front of the boat looks like it took it the hardest. Looks like the rear cushions did not completely burn up. The motor is probably fine, probably $5-8k for motor/V-drive/tranny. I wonder what they would want to sell you the salvage? Probably $10k worth of parts if you include the trailer.

                            All,
I just got word that SkiSafe will indeed cover the loss for the agreed value. We already sent the adjuster all of the necessary paperwork and she is in the process of drafting the final paperwork for the claim. I have to say, although completely devastated, I am happy with SkiSafe's response and action on this matter. Still in the hole for the shed and incidentals, but at least the boat will be covered. I will go back with SkiSafe if they take me back. Thanks to all for the words and concern.
