Maxx, Sorry to hear about your loss. If you have homeowners insurance on the lakehouse, I would suggest that you contact you insurance company or agent to file a claim there. Most homeowners policies provide up to 10% limit of the dwelling coverage for other structures, plus any personal property, things like battery charger, tools, other than the boat itself, are covered in the shed just as if it is in the house. I have seen some that cover golf carts. It doesn't hurt to inquire all they can say is not covered. hey, every dollar helps.

Good news about a crappy situation. Plus side is you get to bring another wonderful boat into the family and have fond memories of the old one! Home owners? Wouldn't that be coverage for the shed? I would pick up a gasser golf cart for future usage.

        Max-

        Great news.

Will they take the trailer too? What about covering all of your other gear? bumpers, ropes, vests, boards, additional stereo equipment?

That's a good question. A buddy of mine had his house burn down and the insurance company included the cancellation notice with his check for the coverage limit. They didn't even question what was in the house...just cut the check for the max limits and cancelled him.

Our thought was???? what are the odds a guy would have "two" houses burn down?

ps - I had a Craftsman 12v charger long ago that was recalled. If that was what you had let me know I'll send you a photo of mine. I still have it.

Only reason I new it was recalled is they had a sign/photo at the tool register when I was there one day....years after I bought it. I grabbed the flyer and sure enough I had one. Recalled because they started fires. I either swapped it out for a repaired one or sent it in...can't remember. but they started fires and they had no way of contacting owners.

SkiSafe might make a run at the mfg if there is known defects.

Latest update - I signed the final settlement agreement and they are to send a check for the agreed value for the boat and trailer. I did not have homeowners, so the shed and everything else is a loss. It is ironic that I had asked my insurance agent for a quote to cover the lakehouse before I came to work in December, but I did not follow up. SkiSafe really is a standup company, as they asked for information, processed it and made the claim in a short time. SkiSafe does NOT want the boat, and I will have to dispose of it, which is a bit strange, nonetheless, is another issue, to get rid of it. There are places that I can pay to have it dumped. We are pulling the engine in hopes of selling it. No damage to the engine or its components, so maybe a couple more thousand dollars added if sold. We are going to strip as much out of it that is salvageable and the shed is going to be torn down.

If anyone knows someone that may need engine and tranny with 150 hours on it, let me know.... In fact, if someone is looking for any savageable parts from 2008 SV-11 TE, let me know

Now on to a replacement, I contacted Marine Max in WI about a 210, but he has not been forthright with answering questions about the boat, seems like he is not interested in selling, oh well... I took a look at Buxton, but did not see much of interest. DM also did not have have much of interest. I will keep looking elsewhere.

              AirTool,
Not a 12vdc charger, was the EZGO manufacturer 36vdc charger, or at least that is what the Fire Marshal stated...It could have been the actual batteries, but nonetheless, we will never know exactly what happened. I also check any recalls on the charger and there are none.

It is still an expensive lesson, and really, the money for the boat helps, but it does not help dealing with the loss. That boat was exactly what I have always wanted and I feel that it will be difficult to find another that I want. Lesson learned - Life 1 Maxx 0

                  All,
Latest update is I have a crew that will be going to the lakehouse to do cleanup and strip the boat of whatever they can get this weekend, we have found a dump to bring the boat and there is a surveyor coming out to see about repair on the shed (probably unrepairable) and have a place to bring the old scrap metal. We have neighbors, family and friends to help with the cleanup and hopefully all goes well. I will not get home until Feb, so I have to leave this up to them. On a better note, I did find a new boat, 2010 SAN 210 all black and fully loaded with 60 hours on it. The marine inspector is going out there to report back. It is 1000 miles one way, so we will travel as soon as I get back home. Signed the agreement and put a deposit down, so hopefully it will be ours.

I will have parts available that will be recovered if anyone is interested, PM me if so

                    Maxx,

The slalom guys might want your motor so they can convert a pre 2006 Ski Nautique to Zero-Off, might be your best bet for selling that piece. Check the PM section, I sent you my wish list, it is 15 items long mostly little stuff that you might not even think to remove... bonus!

                      Mikeski,
I got it and sent you back an email, and I hope I can fill most of it for ya! Thank you, BTW how much do you think the motor and tranny is worth? I am going to have to pay for the removal since the people helping me salvage are not mechnically inclined and I cannot be there

Good call on the motor for a pre-2006 196 ZO conversion. If you don't sell it here, I bet it would be snatched up quickly over on ballofspray.com.

The drive train needs to be "advertised" on all possible sites...with a link to an ebay auction.

It will be gone in no time at the fair market value. Give plenty of time on the auction. Or advertise ahead of time, then anounce the auction is live.

No comment on reserve. Do what you think is right. Okay,...comment: if you want it gone, put little or no reserve and let the market decide. If it is cheap, people will bid and inch their way up. If it is high, they'll be turned off.

                                All,
My slavage team does not have the tools to remove the motor and trans, but if someone is interested and willing to come remove it, the price will be significantly lower... Only issue would be, it has to removed next weekend. This also includes large items such as the tower, **** any parts. We are just trying to get the boat to the dump to clear out the shed, before we repair it or knock it down. If no takers, we will pay to have the motor and trans removed and will sell it later, but will have to raise the price. I would be very appreciative, if someone would be willing to come get it, so PM if serious.
