A PLANETNAUTIQUE member recently had a fire in his boat storage building that destroyed his boat and trailer. When word of this fire first surfaced, I saw that he was insured with SkiSafe, and I watched closely to see how they would handle the situation. I have heard stories in the past of other insurance companies dragging their feet, disputing coverage, or simply refusing to pay. I was very happy to see that within four days of the fire, SkiSafe had agreed to cover this member's boat and trailer at the full agreed value, and that the payment was already in progress! I wasn't surprised that it was covered completely, but what was impressive to me was the speed at which this transaction was handled. The member is already working on getting a replacement boat, and he plans to insure it with SkiSafe again, which is certainly no surprise!
